My Dear Mishra,

Performance of your Railway, upto June' 23, has been analyzed,

Followingare the main observations: -

a. Three consequential train accidents have taken place in South Eastern

Railway. Safety is of paramount importance. Constant monitoring of all
safety related items must be done and steps must be taken to avoid any
untoward incident.
b. As against the proportionate target of loading of 52.72 MT, progress is
50.44 MT only, which is 4.32 % short of the target.
c. Target of 40% Capex in first quarter w_asconveyed in various meetings;
however Capex in your railway is only 32 %.
d. Against the target of commissioning of 77 km of Doubling/Multitracking,
the progress is 33.77 km only.

Other items, where performance is falling short of the proportionate

targets for FY 23-24, are mentioned in the enclosed Annexure.

The shortfalls in proportionate progress are a matter of concern. I would

advise you to properly analyse the reasons and take all the necessary corrective
measures to make up the shortfall at the earliest.
