Ref. Specification SA-234 and SA-960 of ASME Sect. II, Part A, Edition 2021.

Specific Heat Treatment / Supply Condition
Edition 2021 Normalized condition
End Use Fittings for pressure vessel in hydrogen service.
Other requirements: Below mentioned all requirements shall be reported on MTR (Mill /
Manufacturer’s Test Report) –

A) All fittings shall meet all requirements of ASME B16.9 Edition 2018.
B) Material shall be of new & first.
C) Materials shall be fully killed condition. & Fine grained
D) All fittings shall be seamless.
E) Carbon content shall not exceed 0.23% Restricted chemistiry as per ESA-ED3 CLAUSE
Phosphorus and sulfur is limited to 0.05 %. No-2.4
Vanadium content is limited to 0.12 %
Carbon equivalent shall be, Ceq <= 0.43 %.
Where Ceq = C + Mn/6 + (Cr+Mo+V)/5 + (Ni+Cu)/15 Plz refer ESA -ED3 clause no - 2.6
F) Surface quality as per SA-960 of ASME Sect. II, Part A, Edition 2021.
G) Hardness requirement shall be as per SA-234
H) Dimensions, Marking, and Tolerances shall be as per ASME B16.9 Edition 2018 and SA-234 &
SA-960 of ASME Sect. II, Part A, Edition 2021.
I) No repair on any fitting is allowed.
J) Certification – Material shall be certified as per EN10204, Type 3.1.
