Motivation and Statement of Purpose

Only a decade ago, to speak of Africa, technology would have seemed as baseless as
compared to the rapid growth in daily social networking. Today, the continent is part of a
growing global conversation. Information, communication and Technology has become
an integral player in the economic development of my country, Ghana; with people
contributing significantly in addressing numerous challenges using social networking
applications such as Facebook, twitter, WhatsApp and Instagram to name a few.
These recent global trend of technology developments, which are indicative of a wider
trend when considered in the context of issues such as globalization combine with my
personal interest with technology development triggered my desire to undertake a course
in international management with primary focus in taking a leadership position in the
information dissemination prior to global management indigenously.

Am certain that my decision to pursue a career in an International management to the

world is the correct one relating to the study of international processes focusing clearly on
preparing individuals for a successful career in management-level positions within public
and private sectors, principally through its combined practical approach in teaching
methods from your institution. In particular, I was drawn to the way in which technology
impacts communities today using social media and other technological means to make the
voice of the voiceless heard. I believe that I have the qualities to be a good researcher
since I had previous experience working with governmental sector as an assistant records
officer undertaking retrieval of valuable information in archives for researchers as a
mandatory service to my country Ghana.
This Masters programmed therefore attracts for a number of reasons. Its theoretical
strength focuses on areas of study such as “Digital Information” and “Digital
management”. These are directly related to research. I also wish to develop my skills in
analysing and understanding, for which the course on “Research Methodology for
Transcultural contexts” would be invaluable in my personal research work which would
be a plus on my side.

The benefit to me would be: undertaking the Master’s program allowing me to use my
previous experience in my studies, thus providing a meaningful context to the theories of
curbing relevant information though management in relating to technology leading to
research, facilitate learning of others, discuss critically scientific issues with fellow
scientists and present eloquence to results in researches

Meanwhile, it will also be a great opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge
required to carry out practical work in leadership in international management in the
expertise of information management with the use of technology for the future, in the
field of designing, implementing and managing development initiatives using
technological approaches to contribute to a common cause as present youth abuses
information relayed at hand.
I am aware of the high reputation of your University and the excellent Master’s program
that you offer. I believe it will certainly help me with my career objectives through work
in international organization where I will be able to apply my knowledge and skills
obtained through studies at your University. On completing the Master’s program, I hope
to embark on a career in the field of international management and its methodologies. I
am keen to apply the program to my practical experience and become a first point of
information programmer professionally for a resultful development relating to
international management in broader scope within a relevant agency or a similar
institution.
