LONESTAR
NEWS

Let's make this a year to remember!

There are so many exciting things
instore for all of us here at Lonestar!
Just wait and see!

Please let me introduce myself! My name is Jeanie Smith. I am

new to the Community Relations Department at Lonestar. This is a
new experience for me, but I have jumped right in! I'm really
excited to be here and to be a part of this organization. I have a
background in elementary education and own an auction service,
my husband is an auctioneer. With that said, I look forward to
working with all of you to take Lonestar's name and reputation to
the next level within the state Texas and all of the regions we
serve. I will be focusing on fundraising, grant writing and
communications within our Lonestar Family and the local
communities we serve. I am responsible for creating this
newsletter. It is created for sharing our personal success and
joyous moments with our Lonestar kids and families --- PLEASE
share your moments with me. My cell # is 512-734-2293 and my
email is jeaniesmith@lonestarsocialservices.com. Send me
information and/or photos anytime! I look forward to an exciting
and eventful future with Lonestar and working with each of you!

"Purse"onality Online Auction Event
Help! I need new or like-new purses donated. If you or anyone you know has a
name brand, unique or fashionable purse for an auction, please message me
and I will make arrangements for picking it up. If you know someone special
that will take a photo of themselves "modeling" the purse, that would be
WONDERFUL! It can be a male or female, someone in costume OR your
favorite pet.... be creative! I have already obligated Ricky and Bubba from
Storage Wars Texas to model purses that were donated from a local boutique.
This is a new twist on an online fundraiser and with your help, we can make it
really fun. I am hoping to have as many purses as possible by January 20th
and the online auction will take place sometime around February 14th.

I am constantly in search of photos of our foster

families, adoption days and Lonestar staff for
social media posts and newsletters.
Please send me anything you have at any time.

From the Greetings,

2022 has been a very successful year for the company, and we're proud to tell you all about it in this
newsletter. We are very excited about what 2023 has in store for all of us. This will be a year of growth and new
opportunities for everyone at Lonestar. We appreciate your continued commitment to the company and our
growth. We are confident we can make this mutually rewarding.

Desk of Our reputation is our most treasured asset and the foundation on which we have built our company.
Everyone at Lonestar knows that the only way to protect and improve our reputation is to exceed the client's
expectations, meet our commitments, innovate in our business and deliver excellence (as our mantra says
“Excellence. Delivered.”)

Dr. Mercer By understanding, and embracing our clients' business problems, vision, project objectives, and goals, we will
be able to build stronger and lasting relationships that will yield long-term results. The client will start to look
at us as their trusted advisor (someone they can count on). Trusted advisor status and business results can
help us grow our business through repeat business opportunities.

One of our major achievements in the past year has been our ability to submit our proposal for the SSCC/CBC
for Region 7 and updated our web presence (new websites), Lonestar Social Services is officially a nonprofit
entity - 501(c)(3), stabilize and strengthen our existing client relationships, define and institutionalize
operational processes and start conversations with new prospective clients. We have been able to streamline
our Technology services process and have started to yield results from the fine-tuning.

We recognize the importance of the project initiatives entrusted to us by our clients and we need to ensure
we take special care to meet and exceed their business objectives. In order to achieve this we are always
investing in our existing people, and improving our culture and work environment through activities and
initiatives. Retain our most important asset, our people. Also, at the same time attract the best talent in the
marketplace as new opportunities pour into the company.

Lonestar is committed to delivering excellence and aspiring to be the premier foster care and adoption
service provider. We hope you enjoy reading this updated and improved Lonestar Connect newsletter and we

look forward to your feedback so we can continuously improve this along the way.

Best wishes to you and your families for a glorious 2023 from all of us at Lonestar Social Services and Lonestar
Fostering Connections.

Warm Regards,
Dr. James W. Mercer
President/CEO

Desk of On January 3rd Lonestar Fostering Connections submitted the proposal for
the Single Source Continuum Contract for Community Based Care in Region

Dr. Fulton 7A. We are so proud of the work we put into this proposal and the assistance of
Jean Elder and her team at J.K Elder and associates.

Lonestar is prepared to begin working on standing up this fantastic project as

soon as the Office of CBC reviews and accepts the proposal.
