PROPERTIES OF MATERIALS

 ELASTICITY
This is the occurrence of hard materials to get back to their normal state after the
applied force causing it change it state are been damaged.
 PLASTICITY
This type of materials occurs when strong and hard materials do not break when an
external force is been apply to it.
 RELATIVE DENSITY
This is the ratio of density of an object compared to the density of the source material.

 MELTING POINT
This kind of property occurs when solid object changes to liquid or gas state.
 COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH
A material is been describe as a compressive strength when is able to stand upon an
external force making it minimize it size. Some materials minimize at their
compressive strength end others change its state without returning to its state.
 DUCTILITY
This is a physical property where by an object undergoes deformation by stretching
or tensile strength.
 HARDNESS
Is the ability of materials to restrict pliable deformation.
 STRAIN ENERGY
It is a kind of potential energy which is kept within object which have been expose
to strain.
 COLOUR
It is a physical property that changes the state of a material by it color eg from green
to blue.

SOME MECHANICAL MATERIALS IN THE ABOVE

MENTIONED PROPERTIES
1.Elasticity
2.Plasticity
3.compressive strength
4.strain energy
5.hardness

IMPORTANCE OF THESE MECHANICAL PROPERTY IN

LIFE SPAN OF THE MATERIALS
These mechanical property of engineering objects are materials that come together on
an external loads or forces. An object is category as a material if it is meant to be used
for a reason. Engineering materials are objects been use as raw materials for
construction especially in the civil aspects building of houses , construction of bridges
and roads. These works posses qualities of hardness, elasticity and compressive
strength.
Another important of mechanical property is it is very useful in choosing materials for a
mechanical work. This helps in selecting the right or appropriate tools for the correct
work to be done.
