CCTV Technician

Job Summary:

CCTV technicians are responsible for installing and maintaining closed-circuit television
systems. They commonly work with video cameras, monitors, recording devices, networking
equipment, and other related hardware to ensure that these systems are functioning properly at
all times.

CCTV technicians may also be called upon to troubleshoot problems with the system or its
components. This might involve anything from additional installation/upgrades, replacing broken
parts to diagnosing software issues or other technical difficulties.

Duties/Responsibilities:

 To service the Company’s product portfolio as directed in an effective and cost-efficient


manner.
 Design, specify, configure, installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing security
cameras, computer networks, and other equipment used in analog and digital video
surveillance systems.
 Monitoring the operation of security equipment for malfunctions or other problems.
 Troubleshoot cameras, DVRs, NVRs, computers, peripherals, and other hardware.
 Provide technical support to end users covering all software and hardware related
issues.
 Assist with the configuration, deployment, and support
 Maintain and upgrade existing analog and digital CCTV systems as needed.
 To ensure regular communication with the Operations Officer to advise progress and
problems which may require his assistance.
 When appropriate to appoint and manage sub-contractors on site ensuring their work is
neat, and conforms to all the necessary statutory regulations.
 To maintain all paperwork and documentation up-to-date and to communicate
appropriately with Administration Office to receive work and report progress in an
accurate and timely manner in accordance with established procedures.
 To observe and promote safe working practices and help maintain in a tidy and
organized installation.

Required Skills/Abilities:

 A passion for solving problems and providing workable solutions


 Ability to interact in a professional and positive manner with management, team
members, and clients
 2+ years working with Security, Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Alarm systems,
Intercom systems or other building or electronic control systems
 Experience installing and servicing CCTV, DVR systems, and burglar alarm systems in
commercial and residential environments
 Knowledge with different CCTV Brands, cameras and other related specifications
 Basic knowledge of networks and/or network switching preferred.
 Able to stand, walk, crouch, bend, stop, and kneel for long periods of time outdoors in
extreme heat/cold and sun

Education and Experience:

 At least Highschool Graduate


 2 or more years of related experience; or
 Equivalent education, training, and/or experience.
