Specification for Soft Landscape Works July 2012

INTRODUCTION

SLR Consulting Limited (SLR) has been commissioned by FCC Environment to prepare soft
landscape planting proposals and a Specification for Soft Landscape Works in order to
discharge Condition 8 of the planning application 11/20000/AWD. The application covers the
proposed development of the Energy from Waste Facility and associated waste disposal
operations at Greatmoor, near Calvert, Buckinghamshire.

The following document is concerned with proposals for the EFW/IBA sites, Lower Greatmoor
Farm and the Habitat Management Area as set out on drawing GR 1/2 Site Layout in the
original Environmental Statement.

The specification should be read in conjunction with the Ecological Management Plan (EMP)
Ref: 408.00197.00780/EMP, produced for FCC Environment by SLR Consulting. Provisions
within the EMP for habitat creation and management should take precedence over this
specification.

This specification covers the soft landscape works to be undertaken by the landscape
contractor. Any detailed or opportunistic ‘ecological’ planting will be implemented via the
biodiversity partnership and the EMP.

Clauses set out within D20 Excavating and Filling have been included for completeness, but are
assumed to be the principal responsibility of the civil engineering main contractor.
