Causes of Global Warming

1. Depletion of Ozone layer

Ozone layer plays big time in regulating the temperature of the Earth. It minimizes the
penetration of UV rays. Ultra violet rays are very hot that can cause skin diseases. Substance like
Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) is one of the cause of depleting of ozone layer.
2. Excessive deforestation
Remember that trees photosynthesize or make their own food. They use carbon dioxide,
greenhouse gas, together with water and energy coming from the sun to produce glucose and
oxygen. Therefore trees reduce the amount of carbon dioxide concentration on the atmosphere.
3. Excessive emission of greenhouse gasses
Greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, methane and nitrous oxide are the
gases that absorbs energy from the Sun. therefore the factories and power plants, together with
the transportation, have led to emission of greenhouse gasses and causes of planet’s warming.

Effects of Global Warming

1. Spread of skin-related diseases

Due to depletion of ozone layer ultraviolet rays can easily penetrate the earth surface, and have
contact to the skin. People with less melanin are prone with this occurrence. Skin cancer may
result from too much exposure to UV rays.
2. Rise of sea levels
Increase of temperature levels will lead to melting of glacial ice in the polar regions. When this
happens the volume of water will be added to the earth seas and oceans resulting to the rise of
sea levels. When this condition continues it will brings to flood to areas below sea level.
3. Climate change

It is the abnormal changing of climate; it will affect the production of agricultural lands. This will
lead to floods, landslide and other catastrophes causes to lose people’s lives.
