I. Pre Design Phase

Topic/ Lesson: Creating Abstract Nouns
Lesson Duration: 45 mins.

Grade/ Year Level: Grade 6
Material/ Equipment: *Paper strips with the following words
written on it: friend, neighbor, member,
educate, behave, anger, marry, honest (per
group)
* Marker (per group)
*Dictionary (per group)
*1 cartolina/ manila paper

II. Conducting the lesson

Learning Objectives At the end of the lesson the student should
be able to make abstract nouns from
concrete nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
Lesson Procedure Introduction of the lesson

Write on the board the words child -

childhood, leader - leadership. the students
will identify what kinds of words are
written on the board. Then write the word
cold on the board and let the student
change this into an abstract noun.

Instruction to the Activity

Before the students are grouped the teacher
will first discuss to the class the
instructions which are:
1. The students will be group accordingly
by drawing popsicle sticks with numbers
on it.
2. The students will be divided into groups
of 4
3. The students will then choose a leader
from the group.
4. The teacher will distribute the strips of
paper.
5. The students will then change the
following nouns, verbs, and adjectives into
abstract nouns.
6. After they changed it they will now write
the meaning of the word written on the
 strip of paper and their new word using a
dictionary.
7. They will write their finished output on
the cartolina/ manila paper and each group
will present their work.

Collaborative/ Learning Strategies Writing Group will be the collaborative

learning that will be used in this lesson
because while the students are writing their
outputs the students will be in the process
of correcting each other while they are
writing.

in a sentence.
