Problems to be Addressed/ Problem/s observed

The Covid-19 pandemic is one of the most dangerous

challenges this world has faced in our lifetime.
It is above all a human crisis with severe health
and socio-economic consequences.

Single parent families are comprised of a

parent/caregiver and one or more dependent children
without the presence and support of a spouse or adult
partner who is sharing the responsibility of parenting

There are currently an estimated 14 to 15 million

solo parents in the Philippines, 95% of whom are women,
according to a World Health Organization-funded
study by the Department of Health and the University of
the Philippines-National Institutes of Health

-Lost of Work
Since the epidemic started, many of us have lost our jobs;
single parents, for whom work is one of the most essential
things in their lives and serves as their basis for raising their
children, have endured double suffering.

- Financial Struggle
(We've all struggled and looked for ways to make money
, but single parents have it especially hard because,
as we already mentioned, one of their problems is
losing their jobs. If they don't have jobs, how will they be
able to support their families and meet their children's basic needs?

- Health
(One of the most crucial things we need to understand,
especially in this pandemic, is that many single parents are
concerned about their own and their children's health,
which also has an impact on their mental health because
it causes anxiety and overthinking about what's
happening and makes it difficult to be a single parent
during the pandemic.
