Overview of GCC’s hotels sector

The hotel sector in the GCC has continued to face a resurgence and strong growth.
Increases in per capita income are set to improve the domestic consumer demand, thereby, accelerating
growth within the tourism sector and in turn the GCC’s hotels sector.
Businesses are using digitalisation to not only simplify processes and reduce workloads, cut costs,
boost customer satisfaction, and expand revenue generation opportunities.
Diversifying GDP growth away from hydrocarbons into tourism will help drive demand in the hotel sector
in the GCC over the coming years.
KSA and UAE continue to dominate GCC’s hotel market.
According to the STR report estimates, 135,560 existing rooms in KSA with an active pipeline of 82,639
rooms, with total room inventory projected for 2030, at over 218,000 rooms.
For the UAE, STR currently tracks more than 202,000 existing rooms with an active pipeline of 48,910
rooms, a combined total of almost 251,000 rooms by 2030.

The project calls for the construction of a moon replica building along the Jumeirah area.
The structure will be 200 meters tall, with a 198-meter sphere diameter. It will house 4,000 luxury
suites. It will incorporate boutique private residences of 300 units wherein owners will be members of
an exclusive club. The resort’s main attraction is to enable guests to experience walking on the lunar
surface while exploring the lunar colony.

seating area and fire pit overlooking the Red Sea, and a new sea pool.

and recreational facilities are also in the scope. The project is also known as Keturah Resort.

meters tall. | MGM Hotel 2 is of ground + 14 storey + roof and 72.18 meters tall | Bellagio Hotel is of
ground + 10 storey + roof and is of 58.53 meters tall | Aria Hotel is of ground + 11 storey + roof and is
60.165 meters tall; and the Central Entertainment is of ground + 4 levels + roof and is 35.20 meters
tall.
Included in the scope is Bellagio Villas. There are 2 levels of basement in the development. Project No
is R1029/E. The BUA project is estimated at 400,000 square meters.
