1. Aside from the characteristics, what do you think are the 2 major differences between Noli Me
Tangere and El Filibusterismo? At least 5 sentences.

-CRITICISMS

In Noli Me Tangere, the criticisms is clearly anticlerical in its depiction of the friars and of the Catholic
church. Major subjects are, colonialism, religion, and power. While in El Filibusterismo, showed us how
anger and vengeance can take over a person being. The Catholic faith and it’s influence on the Filipinos
choice and the governments issue in corruption on larger point of view.

- MAIN MESSAGE

In El Filibusterismo, present system of governing the Philippines through corrupt and self-seeking
officials, dominated by the so called friars and being submissive to their interests in one fashion or
another. Also in Noli Me Tangere, Colonialism, religion and power. It’s more on political subject and
examining Spain’s colonization.

2. attitude ang pinaoakita, explain kung anong tingin ko bilag isang tao na buhay sa modern world

- “Ignorance is bondage, because like mind, like man. A man without will of his own is a man without
personality. The blind who follows other’s opinion is like a beast led by a halter”

- I can imagine him writing stinging commentaries on the corrupt politicians and self-righteous civil
society leaders the way he took on the hypocritical friars and colonizers. The quote is full of advocacy
about educating ourselves.

I attest the second sentence, We need to make or choose a side in all aspects. Living in this modern
world full of opinions and issues arising, some are just going with other’s opinions. They don’t have the
testimony on the certain subject. Our decisions and perspectives can affect our personality. We have to
keep both of our eyes opened, to fully see the bigger picture. Ligtas ang may alam.
