EXCECUTIVE SUMMARY

We will facilitate the people through fruit snakes in packets at reasonable

prices and get reasonable price from them. Now people enjoy their life with
potato chips, snakes, popcorn, chocolate etc. but we will give them the idea of
"fruit chips" or "fruit snakes" which will be better for their health.

Our initial product will be "Making Crazy - A Taste". Nature (banana chips) in
the market to get the overall reaction of the people towards the fruit snake.
There is no direct competitor in the market but there are also many indirect
competitors who are price makers and trend changers. Our initial product will
be "Making Crazy - A Taste". Nature (banana chips) in the market to get the
overall reaction of the people towards the fruit snake. There is no direct
competitor in the market but there are also many indirect competitors who are
price makers and trend changers.

Pakistan is a consumer market and our consumer is conscious about prices, not
about quality or products. We will provide our products at reasonable prices to
get reasonable price from our customers. We will consider it a "first mover
advantage" for fruit snakes in the snake industry. There are many possibilities
for the success of this product.

OPPORTUNITY

The Pakistani market exports and demands large quantities of fruit, but there is
no firm to produce fruit snacks. We will provide it with fruits of different
flavors, such as roasted apples, bananas, oranges, etc., in the form of snakes
and chips.
If we start this business right, we may be in a position to change market trends
in 10 years. If we change the market trend, we will consider a "Trend-maker"
for the snacks industry.

Business is the name given to the profits made through legal activities. The
most important parameter of making a profit is the presence of opportunity
gaps in the market because there is a strong sense of competition over
differences in similar products.

For the fruit snake, we have a great opportunity in the national market as there
is no producer here who can provide this trend to the people and earn a decent
income. The international brand "Pringles" exists and offers banana chips at a
very limited price.

COMPETITOR ANALYSIS

There is a huge gap in the market for fruit snacks. So far we have no direct
competitors in local and national competition. Our products will be unique in
the market; We will easily have a large economy in the next 12 years which
will provide us with maximum profit and minimum cost. Our major indirect
competitors in the snacks industry are as follows but they all produce vegetable
snakes:

▪ GOLD CHIPS
▪ TRAINA FOODS
▪ MOTA CHIPS
▪ PRINGLES
▪ TRAINA FOODS
▪ SOS FOOD ETC.
▪ BG FRUITS & NUTS ETC.

All of these firms are market heavyweights and have a huge impact on market
behavior. All of these are our indirect or perhaps future competitors. Most of
these firms have a large market share, but not like Lease, which is a leader in
the snacks industry.
In the Philippines, more than 31 producers of banana chips (a total of 41
manufacturers) are found mostly in Mindanao, where banana cardamom is
widely available. For marketing concerns regarding our competitors, we will
promote our brand and products through various promotional activities and
additional benefits for distributors, retailers and end users. But it will be

`

Downloaded by ROSHAN KHALID (roshan.14483.ac@iqra.edu.pk)

important for us to establish a strong and solid distribution network for the
consumption of our products at every level.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Bananas can be processed, such as banana chips, and other cooked foods and
feed preparations. About 65% of banana production is used locally in the
Philippines, for example: 16.5% for processing as a by-product of bananas;
45.5% are sold as fresh bananas in wet markets. 4% of bananas are for animal
feed due to rot or any other reason and the remaining 34% are for export.
Banana chips are a processed banana product to enter the market in recent
years. It has been a very lucrative business.

In the snacks industry, there is no company that offers banana chips, so we

want to provide value to our customers by designing this product. We focus
primarily on the health issues that our consumers face through potato chips
because we know that bananas contain many nutrients and that they promote
digestion, heart and health and weight loss.

The Philippines has more than 31 producers of banana chips (41 manufacturers
in total), mostly in Mindanao, where banana cardamom is widely available.
And used 35% of Cardova's annual production for processing banana chips. In
Mindanao, banana chip makers have traditionally been key players in local
banana markets, controlling their market prices. However, in recent years,
producers of banana chips have not been able to adjust market prices easily
because their agreements with importers were made six months ago. This
situation is further complicated by the constant changes in the international
currency exchange rate.

In the Philippines, the traditional major export markets for banana chips are
Vietnam, the United States, China, the United Kingdom and Germany, which
accounted for about 64% of total banana chips from 2007-2011.

In most of these countries, banana chips as the best-selling product, and has a
large market potential. With the growing awareness for healthy snack food,
food technologists have suggested that banana chips be introduced to the
export market, especially in European countries where there are strict
nutritional requirements, as well as packaging as well as nutritional standards.
Should also be particularly improved.

Two types of banana chips are made in the Philippines. On one side is a highly
organized commercial banana chips factory with state-of-the-art facilities. On
the other side is a semi-auto banana chip production line that produces small-
scale banana chips.
Chips are one of the most popular snacks and are eaten by people of all ages
and backgrounds around the world. Fresh bananas are healthier and cannot be
stored for long.

The process flow of ordinary banana chip production line is basically divided
into two types, one does not require sugar soaking treatment, and the other is
sugar soaking treatment.

NON-SWEATED = Production process: Raw material selection →

peeling → slicing → drying → frying → de-oiling → seasoning →
packaging.

Process points:

1. Choice of raw material: Choose from bananas which have no rot and
quality.

2. Peeling: It is possible to peel it by artificial peeling.

3. Slice: Cut into 0.5 to 1 cm pieces of your choice.

4. Drying: Remove excess water from the surface of the banana pieces.

5. Frying: To deep-fry banana chips, use a continuous banana chips

frying machine to make them crispy and delicious.

6. De-oiling: Remove excess oil from the surface of banana pieces.

7. Spice: Module in different flavors.

8. Packing: classified packing.

DIPPED IN SUGAR = Production process: raw material selection →
peeling → slicing → color protection → hardening → sugar liquid
cooking → sugar liquid soaking → drying → packaging → finished
product.

Process points:

1. Choice of raw material: Choose bananas of the same size and

maturity. Don't choose overcooked bananas.

2. Peel a slice: grate it and squeeze the juice.

3. Color protection and hardness treatment: Prevent banana pieces

from turning brown and later increase the hardness of the pulp to
facilitate processing.

MARKETING PLAN

We are developing "Consumer goods" that end consumers buy from retailers
for their personal use. Inside the goods, we are developing "convenience
goods" - most of the time these goods are purchased in small quantities and
their unit price is low. The profit margin on convenience goods is not the
same as on other types of goods.
In terms of marketing research - the systematic design, collection, analysis
and reporting of data related to a specific marketing situation facing an
organization. We have researched marketing in our target market through
questionnaires.
Survey Research - The most commonly used method of gathering basic data
is the best way to gather descriptive information. A company that wants to
know about people's knowledge, attitudes, preferences, or purchasing
behavior can often find out by asking them directly.
Our product "Banana Chips" a modified form of banana in the snack
industry's national market, will change the trend of people from vegetable
snacks to fruit snacks. That is why the slogan of our product is "Banana
Chips - Taste of Perfection".
In our initial launch, we are introducing two "Banana Chips" products with
different flavors to understand the market and consumer attitude towards fruit
snacks.

1. Banana Chips – Black Pepper Salted.

2. Banana Chips – Spicy.

1. Banana Chips – Black Pepper Salted.
The black pepper salty taste of banana chips best for the breakfast is
especially for children and health conscious people, who avoid high fat
and sugar.

2. Banana Chips – Spicy.

Cool breakfast flavors for teens, especially girls who want something
spicy in their food. A variety of spices and magnesium salts will be
added to this product for flavor.

We are introducing two packaging for both flavors such as,

MARKETING STARTEGY

Marketing Mix:

Product:
Banana chips are healthy and delicious snacks. Bananas are dipped in honey
syrup before frying. The product does not contain any protectors or additives.
Banana chips are filled with 125 grams of plastic and each pack is
individually labeled.

Price:
Each packet of 125-gram banana chips costs Rs. 450. Banana chips are not
very different from the prices of competitors. In fact, the wholesale price of
Member Food Dealer and Gujrat Special Banana Chips, which is distributed
at retail and convenience stores. However, such a difference in prices will
have the least significant effect on competition. Price is neither a viable
business option nor a strategy.

Place:
Delicious and healthy banana chips products will be distributed mainly in the
canteens of different schools. As the business aims to reach out to non-school
canteen customers as well, it will deliver to retail stores. The cash collection

The business will be promoted through word of mouth and pro-business
personal sales efforts. Packaging and labeling will be further enhanced to
further promote the product.
OPERATIONAL PLAN

The concept of production refers to the change of inputs or resources in the

production of goods and services. Inputs are the resources used in the
manufacture of goods and services. There are two types of input: fixed input
and variable input. The term fixed inputs refers to inputs or resources that
cannot be changed or changed easily during the time under consideration,
except perhaps at great expense. And, variable inputs are inputs or resources
that can vary easily and on very short notice.
The concept of short-runtime period and long-runtime period is mostly used in
production concept. Short - For the rum time period, we refer to the period of
time during which at least one input acts as a fixed. And for long runtime
periods, we refer to the period of time when all inputs are variable.

Methods of Production:
• The line produces 1250,000 units per year.
• Daily 09 hours working time.
• This productivity can be increased by the inclusion of more plants.
• Quality output.
• Efficient use of input or resources.
• No wastage.
• Minimum ratio of natural variables in the final output.
• Labor and Machinery Oriented Assembly Line.
• Have complete control over product cost behavior.
• No extras - Qualified and experienced labor required.

DEVELOPMENT PLAN

A business development plan sets growth goals and outlines how you will
achieve them. It can be short-term or long-term focus. Review and revise your
plan as often as possible. And keep building as your business grows.

Raw materials are needed.:

Banana wafer is a simple breakfast that is easy to make and can be prepared
with just a few products. The following are the ingredients in the process of
making banana Chips.

• Bananas - Unripe bananas are used to make banana chips. But make sure
they are fully grown.
• Vegetable Oil - Banana chips are deep fried, so any edible oil is used for
frying.
• Salt
• Black paper
• Other spices
• Small bags for packaging purposes
• Corrugated cartons for bulk packaging and storage.

Unit Establishment:
For the Banana Wafer Making Business Plan you need to set up a trading unit
as the manufacturing process involves different machines. To set up a small-
scale manufacturing unit, you will need an area of approximately 750 square
feet to 1,000 square feet. The place of business must have the required license

and approval from the government. The procedure is described in more detail
in this article.

Machinery Required:
The process of making a banana wafer involves several steps that can be done
with the help of different machinery. From peeling bananas to packing chips,
this process is done with the help of the following.

1. Banana peel - A banana peeling machine is used in this process which

helps to get rid of the outer skin of the banana. However, it is widely
used. For small scale production, you can use banana peel by hand.

2. Banana Slicer - A slicing machine used to cut bananas into exact

thickness. The slicer is powered by an electric motor and cuts the banana
into bulk thicknesses.
3. Beach Fryer - As we all know, banana chips are deep fried, so a large
fryer is used to deep fry banana chips. Any vegetable oil is used for
frying.

4. Oil sieve - After frying, the bananas are transferred directly to the oil
sieve where excess oil is released from the batch.

5. Dryer - The dryer is used to remove oil from the surface of banana
chips.

6. Spice Coating Tank - Banana chips are transferred to the tank and salt,
pepper and other spices are later added to the tank.

7. Sealing Machine - This process involves packaging where the chips are
packed in bags and the sealing machine seals the opening of the packet.

Capital Investment:

MARKET SURVEY

People demand products according to their conscience and preferences. We

know that Third World countries are very accustomed to Western culture.
Similarly, Pakistan is one of the countries that has a huge potential to invest in
the snacks industry in Pakistan because the demand or growth rate is very high.
The annual growth rate of the snacks industry is estimated at 20% -30% per
annum.
Most of the children, teenagers and young people are the target market for the
product and we have experienced that the eating habits in the target market are
changing rapidly and they like to have snacks all the time.

The current market demand is met by a mix of branded and unbranded chips
available in the market. 60% of the population is loyal to the brand. However,
the remaining 40% of the non-branded market can be attracted through heavy
advertising campaigns.
Based on the data collected and the current market survey, the current total
market is estimated at 2,000 tons of chips, which are segregated as follows:

SEGMENTS SHARE % QUANTITY (TONS)

Branded 60 1200
Un branded 40 800
Total 100 2000

TARGET MARKET

Market targeting is a key factor in a company's marketing strategy. The target

market should be in line with the company's goals and objectives. The target
market for the snacks industry is inclusive by nature because children, teens
and young people are the target of our industry. Home, rather than school, is
the most popular destination for crispy and delicious snacks, where seven out
of ten children (70%) eat them at home, compared to half (48%) who eat such
breakfast at school.
According to our marketing strategy, we will target all colleges and
universities in the first three major cities. Following the possible response from
these cities, we will move on to other cities. After the one Spot launch, we will
begin our work on establishing a national distribution network. We will
establish this network in the next 10 to 12 years, covering every street in
Pakistan.

The Banana chips focus on the target market, the middle class aged 15-25,
such as students and university students because they consume a lot for
breakfast.
Banana chips take advantage of the food market function to get word of mouth.
Because now consumers have more confidence when other consumers
recommend a product because their trust is higher than the given definitions.
Social media such as Instagram and Facebook are banana chip tools for
advertising and explaining product information or ongoing promotions as
social media is one of the media that Indonesians today use to get information

project control is the Critical Ratio analysis. The critical ratio CR= CPI x SPI.

Critical Ratio (CR) = Cost Performance Index (CPI) x Schedule performance Index

BENEFITS OF BANANA CHIPS

Banana chips are lightweight, easy to pack, and an instant source of calories
and
simple carbohydrates, a great option when you're walking, hiking or refueling
after a strenuous workout. What's more, because they are dehydrated, their
shelf life is much longer than fresh bananas.

FINANCIAL PLAN

Finance is the most important aspect of the business regardless of their product
or service. Without it, starting a business and surviving is impossible.
Inventing, discovering, and putting ideas into practice is not as important as
financing anything commercial.

"Finance can be defined as a set of administrative functions in an

administrative area or an organization that is related to as satisfactory
objectives as possible."

Financial planning and analysis means the process of creating a solid financial
plan, forecast, budget, and analytical reports that help maintain and improve an
organization's financial position. Financial planning and analysis defines
financial planning purposes as consolidating information such as expenses and
income, profit and loss, and assets and liabilities. Information for the purposes
of financial analysis such as liquidity analysis, working capital ratio, cash flow,
solvency, and stability analysis, and various financial ratios and indicators. It
relies on fact-based testing and statistical analysis to quantify and plan business
activities and predict their financial decisions. It also includes the use of
benchmarks and liaison with comparable companies, to enable organizations to

develop strategies and methods with decisions to grow their business and add
value to their organization.

The importance of financial planning and analysis:

• The company must confirm that it is raising the funds it needs. Too little
funding is bad, and too much funding is bad for any company.
• How are all the funds likely to be raised? Is the business going to issue
stocks, and will it be possible for them to borrow from the bank or issue
a loan? Because many organizations use a combination of all these
sources of funds to raise funds.
• At any given time, the company may have more than two investment
proposals. They have to make a decision that is profitable and has the
greatest chance of success.
• The importance of financial planning and analysis ensures consistency of
goals, aligning growth and development goals for an organization that
highlights its financial needs.
• Financial planning is usually the basis of financial control. Until their
finance teams know how much money has been allocated and for what
purpose. They can't find out if they are going on a low budget or over
budget plan.
• Every business faces unforeseen costs, crises as well as activities over
which they have no control. Emergency funds are needed to go through
such difficult stages.

• The company often chooses which division receives how much funding.
All departments, including production, sales, marketing, advertising, etc.
• The importance of financial planning and analysis also supports the
company's strategic growth and development in the face of risks,
opportunities in new markets, capital budget estimates, and more.

One hundred percent of bananas as input will produce only ninety-five percent
of banana chips as output. This may be due to the banana's moisture content
being lost during frying and cooling. So 10,000 packets of bananas will
produce 9,500 grams of banana chips, or 190 packs of 175 grams of banana
chips.

APPENDIX

The business is a market and will grow in the future. Its honey content makes it
unique and is thus patronized by the target market. The target markets are
school canteens and retail stores. There are numerous schools and are being set
up and the canteens of these schools will be a business market as well as a
network of distribution links. The banana chips will cost only RS.450/= which
is very cheap for school canteens who will sell the same products to students
and other consumers at a markup of one to two persons.
In practice, the proposed business is feasible. The banana chips are easy to
make and do not require highly technical equipment. Running a business also
requires a small number of personnel and the organization does not need to be
complicated.
Most importantly, the business will contribute to society by providing health
products and employing the unemployed. It may start with just one, but as it
grows, it will have a significant impact on the country's workforce and society.
