ELECTRO TECHNICAL OFFICER’S HAND OVER REPORT

Alarms & shut downs of main engine tried out and found working satisfactory.
ME RCS communication failure alarm appears due to defective terminal block, service
technician attended for same issue but had no spare terminal. He interchanged the terminal
of main system with slave, now slave system gives alarm randomly.
ME cylinder cover cooling water high temp alarm and slowdown may come due to improper
contact between sensor and plug-in terminal, clean and tighten the same to resolve.
ME PCO Non flow sensor and switch box for No-1 unit replaced due to defective sensor.
ME Bearing Distance Monitor System (BDMS) for No.4-unit deviation alarm appears some
time due to unknown reason.
ME Cyl CFW Out Press. Transmitter changed with new due to faulty sensor but still alarm
was present in alarm monitoring system inspected input card in field station and changed
defective resistor bank. Now working satisfactory. Vessel has spare card.
ME EICU alarm randomly activated due to Faulty CCU No.05 stop signal input press.
transmitter same renewed and issue resolved.
1 new MPC card and tacho pickup signal amplifier PCB kept in C/E’s cabin. Other electrical
spares are kept in engine stores.
Signal conditioner for ME RCS system was changed and new spare received.
Oil mist detector system is working satisfactory, alarm tested on 19.08.2023 from remote
and from sensor, both found in good order.

Boiler is working satisfactory. Alarms and shut down tried out and found working
satisfactory.
Boiler spares are in the engine stores boiler spare part box and all spare parts are included in
spare parts inventory
Incinerator is working satisfactory. Alarms and shutdown tried out. Spares and geared motor
for waste oil pump are in engine stores. Draft Fan motor overhauled.
PACKAGE AC
ECR package A/C unit maker DAIKEN and refrigerant is R404A. AC unit working satisfactory.
Galley AC working satisfactory. Bridge split ac compressor casing corroded, oil and gas
leaked out, damage is beyond repair, planning to supply new ac.
When ship is in fresh water, switch off the system. Close the sea water out let and inlet
valves. Then open the drain valve. Let out the water in the electrolysis cell.
MGPS readings need to record on log sheet daily and send it to office with month end
reports. All inlet and outlet valves were renewed and same needs to be operated on a
regular basis to avoid valve getting stuck. All inlet and outlet Sea water pipes were cleaned
due to low flow alarm. Reaction chamber and anodes are cleaned. New Requisition raised
for the spare anodes.

System working satisfactory. All maintenance carried out as per the maker’s recommendation.
Cooling system for PRU is not working in auto. Pump has to be started before starting system. Spare
parts are in the engine stores (BWT box).
Carry out backwash operation of ANU unit after every de-ballasting operation, and shut fresh water
filling line to ANU to avoid overflow.
Carry out solenoid valve cleaning 2-monthly (preferably after each operation) to avoid clogging.
All ECU to be clean with chemical every 100 hrs.
New mixing unit installed and wiring carried out. Power supply for Mixing P/P from No. 4 Group
starter panel. Commissioning and all software upgrade done by Techcross Service Engineer on sept
2022.
FMU 1 and its back plate renewed due to overheating of FMU.
One CLX unit complete is repaired and kept in spare, ready to use.
ECU No-2 temp switch renewed.
Makers of the deck cranes are JIANGSU MASADA-MITSUBISHI. There are 4 no’s
electro hydraulic cranes. All Limits operation checked and found working
satisfactory. Rocking test carried out in 04 JULY 2023. All coolers are cleaned.
Crane no- 1,2 & 3 hydraulic pumps renewed due to damaged P-2 pump cartridge.
Reason for the damages is still unknown. Suspecting that damages may have caused
by rough handling of cranes.
Crane No-1 Hydraulic oil change carried out due to unsatisfactory oil test report.
Crane No-4 tug wire brake assembly and rectifier with surge suppressor renewed
due to burnt brake coil.
Makers of the grabs are PEINER SMAG LIFTING TECHNOLOGIES. Crane #1 & 2 grab
cable and tug wire sheaves replaced recently. Spare cables and motors for grab is
kept in forward store. Other spares are kept in engine store.
Main and pre alarm operation checked and found working satisfactory. Spare sensors are
kept in engine room stores and included to the inventory. Tester for WIDAS is kept in
forward store. None of the sensors have fine and coarse gratings, same must be installed to
avoid sensor damage. Fore peak Tank sensor changed recently. New Requisition raised for
the same.
System working satisfactory. Hypermist is supplied from MSB as well as ESB. An auto change
over switch is provided for auto operation.

MOTORS.
Motor overhaul and IR test records are sent on quarterly basis to the office and it is updated.
Kindly follow up the Motor overhaul and IR test records. Spare motors and their locations
are also included in this report.
Spare motors are kept in engine stores, air compressor motor kept near to main air
compressor no.1 and aux blower motor is kept near to cylinder lubricator control module.
Sewage treatment plant is working satisfactory. UV lamp renewed on 15.02.2023. All spares
updated in spare parts inventory and spares kept in engine stores.
UV Sterilizer germicidal lamp renewed on 15 Feb 2023. As per the maker’s instruction lamp
should renew every 6000 hrs. Filter is to be cleaned monthly.
