I.OBJECTIVES
B.PERFORMANCE STANDARDS The learners transfer learning by: explaining the need to be
cooperative and responsible in today’s global village; using
appropriate strategies to comprehend extended text types; using
lexical and contextual clues and analogies to understand
unfamiliar words and expressions; using imperatives, prepositions
and appropriate and polite oral language, stance and behavior in
various information- sharing formats.
C. LEARNING COMPETENCIES / At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to;
a. identify the relationship of the words through analogies
OBJECTIVES (EN7V-IV-c-23.1).;
b. demonstrate independence in gathering vocabulary
knowledge through the use of analogies; and
c. complete the given analogies.

IV. PROCEDURES
Before we start, we will have a mind exercise first. It is called Students: No, Ma’am

“Analogy” means "word relationships." Analogies are
like a word puzzle. Finding another pair of words that
has the same relationship. In most cases, you will not only
determine the common relationship between each pair but you
will also have to identify which term makes up each pair.
Usually, you are given two terms in the format A : B, which
could be read as A related to B (Barbacena, et. al., 2010)
D. ANALYSIS
There are several types of Analogy. So let us start with the first
analogy. Kindly read the analogy posted on board. I would like
you to analyse the examples and identify the relationship of the
following pair of words.
Students: monitor is to computer as finger
