Q: How are “Total Assets” and “Total Liabilities” calculated?

A: “Total Assets” represents the total value of all your individual asset holdings; “Total Liabilities”
represents the total value of all your individual liability holdings.

Q: How are the percentages in the pie chart calculated?

A: The percentages are representative of “Total Assets” or “Total Liabilities” as a proportion of the absolute
sum of your asset and liability holdings. (e.g. “Total Assets” = RM10,000 and “Total Liabilities” = RM10,000,
the percentage of “Total Assets” would be RM10,000/RM20,000 = 50.00%). Bear in mind that the
percentages are rounded up to the nearest two decimals.

Q: How are negative balances treated?

A: Negative balances (e.g. overpaid credit cards) will appear as a negative value.

For example, if the initial amount owing on a credit card is RM500, but the customer transfers RM1,000
from savings account to pay the credit card, this will result in an RM500 negative credit card balance (i.e.
customer has overpaid, and is owed this amount by the bank).

Q: How are structured products treated?

A: Only the book value of the structured product is displayed in Wealth360. This may vary from the actual
amount redeemable at maturity, or upon early redemption.

value of such foreign currency denominated products on the Wealth360 display does not reflect the
bid/offer costs of converting foreign currency into Malaysian Ringgit. The Wealth360 display is strictly for

Asset Classification

Q: What is an asset class?

A: An asset class can be defined as a group of investment assets that show similar economic characteristics
to each other. The Asset Classification display breaks down your investment portfolio into four broad asset
classes: Fixed Income, Equity, Cash and Alternatives.

Fixed Income Debt instruments representing a promise to repay borrowed money. For example,
corporate bonds and government bonds.
Equity Shares and other securities representing an ownership interest.
Cash Short-term liquid assets, such as bank deposits.
Alternatives Non-traditional investments such as gold and REITs.

Q: Where can I access this feature?

A: Login to your Maybank2u account via www.maybank2u.com.my. Next, select the “Wealth” page and
then click on “Asset Classification”.

Q: What products are covered?

A: The Asset Classification display currently covers the following products:
1. Savings Account
2. Current Account
3. Fixed Deposit
4. Master-Foreign Currency Account (MFCA)
5. Maybank Gold Investment Account (MGIA)
6. Maybank Silver Investment Account (MSIA)
7. Unit Trust
8. Shares

Q: What is in the Fixed Income asset class?

A: This refers to corporate and government debt, including fixed income instruments held by Unit Trusts
or ETFs that you own.

Q: What is in the Equity asset class?

A: This refers to listed shares, including shares held by Unit Trusts and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) that
you own. However, it excludes Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and non-equity Exchange Traded
Funds (ETFs).

Q: What is in the Alternative asset class?

A: This includes investments in any asset class excluding Fixed Income, Equities and Cash. This may include
precious metals (gold, silver), REITs, commodities, hedge funds or financial derivatives.

Q: What is in the Cash asset class?

A: This includes the balances in your Savings Account, Current Account, Fixed Deposits, Master Foreign
Currency Account and money market holdings within your Unit Trust funds.

Q: What does ‘Money Market’ inside the Cash asset class mean?
A: This refers to the cash holdings of Unit Trusts that you invest in. Please note that this cash held by a Unit
Trust cannot be directly accessed by investors in the fund; it is included in the Asset Classification
breakdown solely for reference purposes only.

Q: How are Unit Trusts treated?

A: Unit Trusts are broken down into the separate asset classes held by the Unit Trust. Note that this is for
reference purposes only, because the investor in a Unit Trust only has rights to the units that they own,
and not to the underlying assets held by the Unit Trust.

Q: How are Exchange Traded Funds treated?

A: Exchange Traded Funds are classified based on their primary asset class exposure. For example, an ETF
tracking an equity index is classified under the Equity asset class. Equally, an ETF tracking a bond index
would be classified as Fixed Income.

Q: How are foreign currency assets treated?

A: The value of foreign currency denominated products are converted into Malaysian Ringgit using the
average of Maybank’s Buying and Selling TT Foreign Exchange rates. Please note that this is solely for
reference purposes only, and it is not an executable exchange rate. As such, the value of such foreign
currency denominated products does not reflect the bid/offer costs of converting foreign currency into
Malaysian Ringgit.

Q: How often are the asset classifications updated?

A: Generally, the account and product balances covered by the Asset Classification display are updated at
the same frequency as for the Wealth360 display (see previous section). The asset class breakdowns for
Unit Trusts are updated as and when such information is made publicly available. The asset classifications
for ETFs and REITs are updated on a periodic basis.

Q: How can I see a further breakdown of each asset class?

A: There are several breakdown levels in the pie chart. Simply click on the relevant asset class in the pie
chart to see a further breakdown. Press the “back” button to return to the previous level of the pie chart.

Q: I see a percentage number inside the pie chart. What is this number?
A: This percentage number only appears after you click on an asset class breakdown. It represents the
total value of this breakdown in the previous level of the pie chart.
