Fast moving drugs like Tab. Paracetamol may be stocked

more than the required quantity if budget is surplus.


Slow moving drugs like Inj. Streptokinase may be stocked

adequate quantity 9 to avoid nil stock


Non-moving drugs may be transferred to needy institutions

FEFO METHOD (FIRST EXPIRY FIRST OUT)

To control the expiry of drugs, this method is very useful.


l

Drugs purchased earlier should be issued first (short exp.)


l

The least purchased should be issued next (long exp.)


l

That is the short expiry drugs should be issued first


l

The long Expiry drug will be issued later.

It you have not enough money to get all the drugs which you
need to order. To decide which drugs to leave out of your order on be
difficult. The following is a useful tool to manage.
V - Very essential or life saving drugs (VITAL)
E - Essential drugs
D - Desirable / non essential drugs
If you do not have enough money, then do not order any non
Essential drugs (D.items). If you still do not have enough money the
buy less Essential durgs (E.items). Try not to reduce the amount of
very essential drugs (V.items) when you place order.
