SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS SESSION 2023-24

Note: Students will be assessed in 20 Marks for their Summer Assignments, to be included in their Mid-Term Result

1. Make a desk calendar by using cardboard and colored computer papers (take help
MATHS from you tube).
Teacher: Ms Ammun 2. Make an analogue clock with disposable plate/cardboard and show your math’s class
Zafar/Ms Sobia timing with the help of needles.
3. Practice, learn and write tables from 5-15.
4. Make 2D shapes on a chart paper and show their lines of symmetry (page 168).
5. Revise all work which has been done in class.
Reading:
Read any one book from the following titles: (Most of these are available online or
ENGLISH visit any library that is near you. They are also available at various bookstores.

● The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

1. Write a review on any one book read by you. Your review should include the
following
● format: (Bring the book with you when the school reopens)
● Name of the Book and Author
● Summary of the Plot/Story (no more than 100 words)
● Your personal experiences i.e. positive and negative
● Provide an alternate ending:
● Comment about your favorite character using the adjectives from the novel to
illustrate your choice.
● Your recommendation: Write a persuasive essay of about 200 words,
recommending the novel to a friend. Be as creative as possible.
Task 2: Create an album capturing pictures of how you helped your Mom in two
months.
Task 3: Visit any of your favorite place and Record a Vlog (audio video recording)
about place using all Tenses, adjective, Articles (a ,an,the,)
Task 3: Choose a picture or object that inspires you.
Write a short story based on the picture or object, using descriptive language.
Incorporate at least three different verb tenses (present, past, future) in your story.
Task:4 (writing Prompts) Persuasive script: Below I am giving prompts, you have to
complete the story.
1 When I was fifteen, I wanted to get a job so I could buy a car when I turned sixteen.
My father sat me down at the kitchen table and said, “Excellent. But only on one
condition: 10% of every paycheck must go into a savings account. And you cannot
touch that money except in an emergency.”“But Dad,” I argued, “If I have to put 10%
away, how will I ever save enough money to buy a car?”“You’ll have enough,” he
replied. “And you’ll soon see how important it
is to set money aside for savings.”
Ending lines: So take my father’s advice, and mine: Put a piece of each paycheck into
your savings. It’s a habit that’s worth every penny.

G. SCIENCE 1-Make a small presentation on how animal and plant cells were discovered and who
Teacher: Ms Mehak Fatima discovered them.(max 7 slides)

2- Make seed paper by using recycled paper pulp and seeds . Note your experiment in a
notebook and write 3 to 5 ways how seed papers are useful in controlling air pollution .

3- Make a presentation on the discovery of atoms . (max. 7 slides)

4-Draw animal and plant cells and label them . Write similarities and differences
between both cells in a table in your notebook

5- Visit a laboratory and observe how pathologists are observing cells and diseases
causing agents in a microscope . Ask them the procedure and observe the cells in a
microscope if they allow you . Observe the microscope use and functioning. Write your
laboratory visit in your notebook and mention all the things which you learn in this
visit.

Activity/Task: Collect the stories of prophet Adam, Prophet, Ibrahim, and develop
these stories in powerpoint presentation with animated features

SOCIAL STUDIES Task 1: Visit a cultural heritage site(museum, memorial/ art and cultural Centre) and
Teacher: Ms Shafia share your experience along with its significance in 200 words and also paste relevant
pictures.
You can also record vlogs.
2. COLLAGE MAKING INTERVIEW
Collect information about various philosophers, Scientist, and Travelers of History
and make videos, consider yourself as one of them and tell Inventions etc.
Collect a picture and information on global warming and make collage out of them.
Conduct an interview of your old family members such as Grandparents about the
history of Pakistan partition and film that Interview.
