World War I

Wilson's 14 points
Anti-imperialist, leave countries alone to their own devices. wanted countries to avoid
deals and alliances and instead go with an international bodies solving conflicts. League
of Nations.

The U.S. Constitution requires the senate to ratify it. The senate refuses. Same
body Norris comes from. Makes it impossible to work

Europeans are on board. U.K. would've been able to call most of the shots in the
League of Nations.

European countries leave to build up their militaries, Japan leaves for the
navy. Germany has a massive air force, but no naval power, so they form
alliances

Franklin Roosevelt's Four Freedoms


Roosevelt is unsatisfied with the speed at which the united states is producing arms and
supplies for the war. However, he wants to still provide for other countries in aid of the
war, and not have them pay him back in money, but in return that they would help if the
U.S. ever needed it. war threatens their security,
speech, worship, want (economic understanding), freedom of fear. Foundational of
post-war.
Roosevelt, the idealist. Foundational to U.N. Charter. U.N. Security Council.
