Is the internet bad for young people?

Internet has become necessary in our life, especially during the pademic. We use it to communicate,
take courses even the shopping can be done online. Due to the easy accessibility of the internet ,
social media sites are becoming more and more famous as well, especially among young people.

Firstly, teenagers nowadays have to use the internet, they do not really have a choice since most of
them have their classes online due to the pandemic. Besides studying, internet gives them the
opportunity to keep in touch with each other no matter how far they are from each other. Lot of
them, for example gamers, need the internet even for their hobbies.

On the other hand, cyber bullying has become one the most serious problems among teenagers.
Hiding behind a fake profile makes criticizing way easier and feels less personal In some countries
the governments have taken steps against it but in some smaller countries such as Hungary it is not
taken as seriously as it should be yet. Tons of suicides were commited because cyber bullying or
some kind of menace , for example the blue whale back in 2018.

To sum up, internet has both advantages and disadvantages such as everything. Young people should
be aware of the risks of smaller, non-certificated sites.
