Water has different roles in maintaining our health, this include its ability to hydrate
our body. In fact, staying hydrated provide various benefits to our body, such as remove
wastes, digest food easily, keep joints and cartilage lubricated and transport nutrients to
different parts of the body. This analysis was conducted in the class of Bachelor of Science in
Nutrition and Dietetics to determine their daily water consumption in glasses. The forty (40)
participants, six (6) males and thirty-four (34) females were interviewed and their responses
are represented by the illustrations below:

INTERPRETATION
Of all the participants among the BSND 1A students, there were 16 consumed 7 -8
glasses of water per day, covering 40% of the whole, which has the highest rate of responses,
indicating that most of them prefer to consuming adequate water intake daily that can help
students maintain better focus, which is essential for learning. Meanwhile, 12 students
responded that they consume slightly lower than the general recommendation of 5 – 6 glasses
of water daily, covering 30% of the entire chosen population, which can still provide many
cognitive and energy benefits but is only suitable for students with less physical activity
engagement. In addition, 8 students responded that they had limited hydration for the reason
that some of them find it challenging to access water throughout the day at school, which
covers 20% of the graph. Lastly, covering 10% of the entire chosen population, 4 participants
are not fond of drinking water or find it difficult to drink larger amounts due to some reasons.

IMPLICATION
It is important to note that students should recognize the importance of staying
hydrated for their overall well-being and academic performance and should listen to their
bodies, drink water, and adjust their intake based on their activity level, health conditions,
and external factors like temperature and humidity. Also, regular water breaks, having
accessible water sources, and raising awareness about the benefits of hydration can contribute
to healthier habits among students. On the other hand, schools can play a role in promoting
hydration by providing safe water sources inside school premises. Incorporating hydration
education and providing access to clean and convenient water sources within educational
environments can significantly contribute to students’ health, learning outcomes, and overall
quality of life. Students are more likely to succeed academically and engage actively in
extracurricular activities when they prioritize and maintain proper hydration. Students
prioritizing hydration before the onset of thirst is crucial, as thirst can signal a degree of
dehydration. In addition, during meals, integrating water consumption aids digestion and
supports hydration goals. Lastly, students should remember that staying hydrated is an
ongoing effort, especially in hot climates. By making hydration a priority, they can help
ensure their well-being and ability to thrive in their environment.
