NATIONAL LEARNING CAMP

TEACHERS NARRATIVE REPORTS
School year 2023-2024
Date: July 31 – August 4, 2023

Learning is very important to each and every one of us; even we teachers
are still in the learning process. We teachers have a vital role in the learning process of the
campers, and with this program (National Learning Camp), we can enrich, improve, and refresh
the learning of the campers. Learners and teachers are considered lucky to have and undergo this
kind of program because NLC is not just about the teaching-learning process but also engaging in
different kinds of fun activities that can develop and acquire new skills.
On the first day of the second week, we camp facilitators discussed and
shared different strategies to improve our approach to our campers. I gained a lot and also applied
it to my class discussion. On the second day, I discussed lessons 7-8, and in the review part of the
workbook, I made sure that the campers could participate in the class discussion. For the lesson
activity, I formed them into different groups to make sure that they could build good relationships
with their co-campers. On the third day (lessons 9–10), I divided the class into groups and
modified the content of the workbook to turn it into a game so that the class could become more
active and have fun, but I made sure that they could answer their workbook. For the fourth day
(lessons 11–12), I conducted an outdoor activity that involved the school map, which also related
to the topic in the workbook. On the last day of the week, we conducted collaborative learning with
my co-camp facilitators and teachers, and we discussed what we had done during the three
teaching days and whether our teaching strategies were effective.
The campers engaged in a meaningful, learning, and fun week. Campers
show that they can excel in different areas and that they can collaborate with their co-campers
despite their differences with each other. I make sure that I conduct an inclusive class that can
cater to the different learning needs of my campers.
