I. OBJECTIVES
 Familiarize with the different types of survey.
 Distinguish differences among the types of nonverbal communication.
 Use nonverbal communication through actively participating in the game “Charades”.
 State the value of both verbal and nonverbal communication in one’s daily life.

III. PROCEDURES
A. Pre-Activity
1. Review
a. Have a short review on the previous lesson which is about the nature and importance of
communication.
2. Motivation

a. Present a short video clip from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LhLjpsstPY

b. Let the students watch the clip for 5 minutes.


c. After watching, ask the following questions:
 What have you noticed in the video? What is all about?
 How come you seem to understand the content without hearing words from the characters
involved?
d. Ask some volunteer students to answer the given questions.

B. Lesson Proper
1. Begin the lesson by asking one student to briefly explain the quotation:

2. Present the two types of communication: verbal and nonverbal communication.


3. Activate the prior knowledge of the students by asking their ideas about the present lesson.
4. Provide discussion and follow up about the meaning of verbal communication.

 Formal Vs. Informal Communication
5. Let the students cite scenarios where oral, written, formal and informal communication were used.
6. Proceed with the discussion about the meaning of nonverbal communication.
7. Encourage the students to mention nonverbal communication they usually used in day-to-day basis.
8. Get them be familiarized with the different types of nonverbal communication.

9. Ask the students to give examples in each type of nonverbal communication.


10. Provide real life situations and let the students identify the appropriate type of communication to use.

C. Post Activity
1. Create a group of two from the chosen students to actively participate in the game named Charades.
2. Explain the mechanics of the game.
3. Have them play it for three to five minutes.
4. Give at least two additional points to be added on the quiz for the winning group.
