General notes:

- Speed: For each level, speed is really important. Speed will be decided based on the
student's English level. The higher level, the faster speed. Speed will also depend on
- the students’ characteristics.
- Pronunciation: For ESL student, correcting pronunciation is really important and
teachers should correct during the class using the back-chaining technique.
- The teacher should appraise the student or correct positively frequently.
- As students are adults, T should ask a lot of questions as well as giving examples to
enhance interaction and to check S’s comprehension. T may ask S to share their own
experience related to the lesson topic.
- If the student cannot answer, the teacher can ask guiding questions to help the S to
get to the answer.
- For students at low levels, T should explain the vocabulary/ grammar points/ answers
with simple sentences and examples.
For students at higher levels, T should ask S to explain their answers.

- T makes transaction: Now, let's learn the vocabulary and structures to say the places that
people with different jobs work at.
- T gives S a task: Match the people in the pictures (1-5) with where they work at (A-E).
- T goes through one by one with S.
1. T gets S to look at the picture and guess the suitable word for the place in the picture.
2. T gets S to fill in the blank to complete the sentence.
3. T moves on if there is any place that S doesn't know and goes back when there are more
options crossed out.
4. If S really struggle to complete the task, T goes through each picture and saying the place.
Then, T gets S to do the task again.
- T gets S to type the words (with spellings) into the blanks.

- T gives S a challenge: Look at the pictures and the given information to guess the people.
- T signals to read through the given people (A-E)
- T goes through one by one and asks S to say their guess in full sentences. E.g,. She works at
a construction site. So, she is an architect.

- T makes transitions: Let's learn how to pronounce these words correctly.


- T introduces the video: Listen to how the words are pronounced and repeat after the
recording.
- T plays the video, making sure that S repeats after every word in the recording. For difficult
words, T can rewind the video and asks S to repeat many times.
- After the video, T asks S to say the words again to check if S can pronounce them correctly. If
not, T gives S support by slowly pronouncing the words and using the back-chaining teaching
method.

- T introduces: What's the new structure that we've learned?


- T signals S to look at the table and gets S read the the table.
- T asks:
1. What do we say when we want to ask someone about their workplace? → Where do you
work?
2. What do we say to answer? → I work at/ in ...
3. Now, if we want to ask 'they' about their workplace, what do we say? → Where do they
work? → T types this in.
4. What do we say to answer? → They work at/ in... → T types this in.
T repeats the steps for 'he' and 'she' to complete the summary table.
- S might take notes if needed.
