CMHS Band Update

Important Messages
● Congratulations to the CMHS Marching Percussion who performed at the Greater St. Louis
Percussion Festival on August 26. The percussion, drum majors, and some winds performed 1st
and 2nd movement at this festival and received feedback and critique immediately following their
performance. This is an awesome experience for the percussion students. Some winds were
invited to this performance because our show relies heavily on the winds, especially during the
2nd movement. Their presence at the festival was useful, and the judges thanked them for coming
because it allowed them to understand the bigger picture of the show outside of just what the
percussion performs. It is, after all, the BIG PICTURE that our audience hears and sees!

● The school year is off and running! Just as a reminder, please communicate all absences with me.

● As we keep moving through the school year, remember that you have to be responsible for many
things. Always ask yourself, what can you do today that will make your life easier tomorrow?

● A note on call time. Call time is the time you should be at the school ready to go. Call time is NOT
the time you are arriving.

ATTENDANCE IS ESSENTIAL.
