Discussion The teacher will discuss and give examples:

 Probability – is the measure of how likely an
event is to occur. The more likely an event is to
occur, the higher its probability. The less likely an
event is to occur, the lower its probability.
 Simple event – it is an event which has a single
Outcome.

EXAMPLE: WORD PROBABILITY

If a letter is chosen at the random from the word PERSEVERANCE:

 What is the probability that the letter chosen is E?

Task 2: THINK-PAIR-SHARE ACTIVITY

If a letter is chosen at the random from the word MATHEMATICS:

Task 3. GROUP ACTIVITY

The teacher will divide the students into 4 groups. Each group will be given different
task.

Group 1 – Fair die.

Group 3 – Jar of candies
Group 4 – Deck of Cards
