Planning Information

Effectivity: TRC497 SKYWATCH©, P/N 805-10800-xxx

ECN: 83482

Concurrent Requirements: N/A

Reason: This product may have a suspected unapproved part (SUP)

installed. This service bulletin creates an inspection MOD,
effective at next service, which identifies units that have had this
condition corrected.
Engineering assessment has determined that the presence of this
SUP in the unit does not create a potential for an unsafe condition.
The SUP appears to be refurbished/used and not newly
manufactured.

Description: The incorporation of MOD L to the TRC497 by inspecting the unit

for suspect unapproved parts and if needed replacing part with
approved part.

Compliance: Note: Customer Units do not need to be removed solely for this
inspection modification.
Customer Units: Units removed from aircraft for required test and
evaluation must have MOD L incorporated.
Note: Service charges shall not be charged for this modification.
Normal service costs shall be charged for additional repairs
except for units that are under warranty.
New Units: Future production units will incorporate MOD L.

Approval: This service bulletin contains no modification information that

revises the approved configuration and therefore does not require
governmental or other regulatory agency approval.

Export Compliance: This service bulletin consists of L-3 Avionics Systems Inc.,
general capabilities information that does not contain controlled
technical data as defined within the International Traffic in Arms
(ITAR) Part 120.10 or Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
Part 734.7-11.

Manpower: The incorporation of this modification requires less than 1 hour.
