III. LESSON PROPER

Motivation

Write equations related in Linear equation and ask the students if they are
familiar with the given. Let them try to solve the following equation:

1. 2x+7=19
2. 3x-5x=-31
3. x-9=0
4. 2x+8=0
5. -9x-54=0

A. ACTIVITY

“ANSWER ME!”

a. Provide standards for the group activity.

b. Give the mechanics of the activity.

c. Get a small sheet of papers and then write the given there. Write at least 10
equations and then as you pick an equation, let your students answer it.

B. ANALYSIS

a. Process the activity.

b. Ask further questions.

1. What can you say about our activity?

2. How do we recognize if a given equation is a linear equation?

C. ABSTRACTION

Proceed to the new lesson which is the Perfect Square Trinomial.

a. Ask the students what are they thoughts about Perfect Square Trinomial

b. Introduce the topic.

c. Discuss the topic and site some examples.

D. APPLICATION

The teacher provided flash card with questions and equations and she will post the
answers on the blackboard. The teacher will show the flashcards one by one and the
group that will raised their hands first is the one who have a chance to go to the board
and match the flashcard with the correct answer on the board.

EVALUATION

In a whole sheet of paper, solve the following equation.

1. x2 + 8x + 16
2. 4x2– 20x + 25
3. x2 + 2x + 1 = 0
4. x2 + 6x + 9 = 0

5.

ASSIGNMENT

Solve the following algebraic expression, tell whether it is a perfect square trinomial or
not.
