I. INTRODUCTION

Having conceptualized the great need of learning to mold the students

become a useful citizens of our future generations, we are obliged to exert
effort to make learning purposeful, enjoyable and meaningful to them;
hence strategies of teaching must be suitable and gear towards objectives
of ensuring quality education as conceived by the Department of
Education.

In connection to these, educators and learners must find it useful to learn

and develop their ability in using the English language for this will put them at
a distinct advantage in the world of continuous changes and fast discoveries
in all fields of human endeavor. To attain these, the opportunities to maximize
teaching and learning English should not be wasted. English teachers must
give their students varied activities inside and even outside the classroom,
suited to the level of students’ understanding which would help them learn
and develop their intellectual intelligence and at the same time discover
their hidden talents in the field of speaking the English language.

Holding activities like these is not easy. It needs support from the
administration and colleagues. It also needs money to finance the
construction of our English Garden; hence, letter addressed to the teachers
and principal is made so that English Club members who help in the
preparation of activities will be excused from attending their classes. Another
letter is written addressed to the General Parent-Teacher Association (GPTA)
to seek the approval for the solicitation, our strategy to raise funds.

Activities like these are absolutely beneficial among our students so an

action plan is made to ensure that every activity will successfully be done.

II. OBJECTIVES

Realizing the importance of learning English language among students of

Lumot National High School, the language teachers had come up with an
action plan involving students from Grades 7-10 in varied activities that will
aim to:

 Showcase students’ competence in communication arts skills through

healthy and friendly competitions;

 Develop their skills in oral and written communication in English;

 Boost their confidence and realize their full potential, and

 Appreciate basic knowledge and information found in our English
