The Italian developed, designed and manufactured Supermec
is the premier residential lift.

The Supermec is the only lift to be invited to display at

ENERGETHICA – Europes leading exhibition for innovation in
Energy and Environmental conservation.

It is the ultimate private lift with automatic sliding doors,

incredible technology and glorious styling. It is offered
with optional steel and glass shafts which are ideal for an
observation or panoramic effect.

The Supermec lift was released in Italy in 2002 and

internationally in 2005. It is exclusive to Lift Shop in Australia
and is the first genuinely green residential lift with a Non-
Hydraulic, Machine Room Free, Traction drive.

The Supermec uses minimal power and can do approximately

20 runs on its Backup Battery system (perhaps during a power
failure).
The Supermec lift uses approximately 13% of the power of the
hydraulic equivalent with less parts and no hydraulic oil.
The capital costs and running costs are simply less than the
hydraulic Superdomus that it superceded.
Today the Supermec is found in the most sensational and
exclusive of homes in Australia and Europe.
World class is not a static condition - the ultimate in private lifts
is now redefined.

The Supermec is the first residential lift to have our new MEC
drive system – a revolutionary drive which features
- No Machine Cabinet or room, (a genuine MRL)
- Traction drive with steel rope and counter-weight balancing
(Traction is accepted as the future for all lifts)
- Nominal 2800mm headroom from top floor finished floor level
- A ground breaking 48v DC motor
- A battery supported drive system that enables the Supermec
to run even during a total power failure (up to about 20 runs)
- Power failure proof technology
- Smooth and silent operation
Naturally, the lift travels at the fastest legal speed of 0.30m/s
with 7 passengers whilst only requiring single phase power of
20A to trickle charge the smart battery system. (note in Italy,
the Supermec travels 66% faster at 0.50m/s and under special
circumstances this is also permitted in Australia.)
The Supermec has a tiny pit and headroom plus full height light
ray protection in addition to the usual safety systems.

Custom cabin sizing gives flexibility in layout whilst minimizing
the required shaft space. We adapt to your space and home.

stunning stainless steels, mirrors and glass wall combinations,

1853 Elisha Graves Otis creates the first lift for public use.

The automatic side sliding doors & jambs supplied and

installed by Lift Shop are available in a range of finishes and
styles. The doors slide out of the way internally into the shaft.
The door motor is located on top of the lift car and carries the
landing door automatically as it opens.

DOOR SIZES
Generally, the jambs are 100mm wide and the doors are
2000mm high with a further 100mm jamb above.

For example, a door with 850mm wide x 2000mm high clear

opening is contained in a jamb 1050mm wide by 2100mm
high. Other sizes are also available in 50mm step increments
from 600mm to 1000mm.

Doors can be centre or side opening.

 LIFT SHAFTS
Lifts require a shaft in which to run. It is built by a
builder or supplied by the lift company.

Concrete, brick or block shafts are usually built

into the building as part of the construction
process (190mm thick load bearing walls is
common). They are preferred by customers who
want the lift to “blend in”. They usually require
a bigger total outside shaft footprint due to
the thickness of the concrete walls and may
be slightly cheaper in a new building situation.
Remember “total project cost”.

When you place an ELFO in a concrete shaft, then

it is recommended that you paint and render the
inside of the shaft on the door opening walls. It is
a requirement that this wall be smooth and flat.

Where an elegant and impressive or observation

effect is required to the entire outside of the lift
shaft, the the lift shafts are often purchased
in addition to the lift. The steel shafts have a
smaller outside footprint due to the 50mm thick
load bearing structure so are also popular for
situations with limited space. Steel and glass
shafts are extremely popular where a functional
light well or architectural effect is desired.

The steel shafts look sensational, and are

designed to impress our most discerning
customers.

Steel shafts are also very quick to install as they

are modular, designed to be carried in through
a normal door opening, they do not require roof
removal or crane, and sustain their own loads.
Naturally, it is one less thing for the builder to do.

Safety & Security

Safety is paramount. LIFTSHOP has a perfect safety record
and will not use single or triple beam sensors. Full height
light rays are the only safe solution for automatic lifts (as
per the European directives)

Safety is an invisible feature, like a car airbag.

Supermec safety features include:

• Multiple steel ropes with 40 ton breaking strain
• Overload indicators giving audible warning of overload
conditions
• Over speed sensing safety gear which automatically and
mechanically engages in the event of a descent or ascent
that is too quick. Two independent safety brakes. (due to
counterweight they work in both directions)
• A siren
• A telephone independently powered • Mechanical locks that make it impossible for the landing
• Self rescue systems door to open when the lift is not at floor level
• An active safety circuit which is continuously monitoring • Separate battery supply that keeps the lights and lift
the lift working during power failure. (should we be concerned

Before a lift is offered it has to pass rigorous
qualification criteria and tests and must be design
registered with our Australian regulatory authorities.

As a leading European lift product, the Supermec is

installed in many hundreds of locations throughout
Europe and Australia. It easily met or exceeded the
requirements of the Australian standard.

The Supermec runs on nylon rollers within sealed

bearings ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride on
precision engineered guide rails.

Impact • Environment
The impact of the lift on its’ environment is massive.

Standards and Regulations Our lifts use significantly less power and space than any
similar product available in the market place.
The lift code AS1735.18 applies to residential lifts. All
our lifts have been pre- approved for installation and
have had the designs registered and approved by the
Australian Authorities.

The Supermec is manufactured in Italy and also

complies with the European Standards and Directives.

All lifts are tested to a documented set of procedures

prior to being placed into service.
