made to feel
realising her full potential + power, she’s recognising colour in
her life
Flame – passion, excitement as she’s not allowing other
people to make her feel restricted/closed off (fire
spreads/uncontainable)
Endless – signifies that she sees no limits when she unleashes her
potential
No one will claim – ready to be original unapologetically and
assures that she won’t change for anyone/ be anything she’s not.
Distant – on the horizon, realizes she’s not quite where she
wants to be yet
Thunder – powerful/loud, danger
I believe there is a slight juxtaposition to be seen here between
quiet/meek and loud representing the humanising nerves she has
with this next step.
Open its eyes – end of a period of dormancy/unconsciousness
For once – signifies that she has been patient to get her chance
ashamed/embarrassed for being myself and loving musical
theatre by people who barely knew me or anything about it,
additionally as life is more colourful when surrounded by people
who share/support your talents/interests.
I think that this lyric represents me as at this point, the start of my
time in college, I’m ready to put all of my determination into the
next steps of my life, paired with channelling excitement for this
subject that was suppressed in the past.
I perceive this lyric to represent me as while I’m excited to start
this chapter of my life, there is also inevitable nerves aligned with
it, signified by the dangerous ‘thunder’ on the horizon. However,
despite this I am willing to give it my all in the face of
discouragement.
I hold the belief that this lyric represents me as I also feel that I
have come out of a period of figurative dormancy, most notably
when I found out that I passed the audition and secured a place at
lipa, reinforcing my desire to put in the work required to achieve
my dreams.
