B. Profile of the Intervention


Title of Intervention: Compilation of Assessments for Filipino IV-VI

Rationale
___________ Elementary School heeded the Department of Education’s Order no. 8 series of
2015 which is the Policy Guidelines on Classroom Assessment for the K to 12 Basic Education
Program shall be implemented in public elementary and secondary schools nationwide.

The order further stipulated that Classroom Assessment is an integral part of curriculum
implementation. It allows the teachers to track and measure learners’ progress and to adjust
instruction accordingly. Classroom assessment informs the learners, as well as their parents and
guardians, of their progress.

Assessment is an integral part of instruction, as it determines whether the goals of education are
being met. Assessment affects decisions about grades, placement, advancement, instructional
needs, curriculum, and, in some cases, funding. Assessment inspires us to ask these hard
questions: "Are we teaching what we think we are teaching?" "Are students learning what they are
supposed to be learning?" "Is there a way to teach the subject better, thereby promoting better
learning?" as it was defined by Edutopia.

Thus, setting up examples as intervention helped teachers to make effective assessments for their
learners.

Intervention description
This intervention was made possible as the proponent was designated as the Filipino Coordinator
in the school in application of her learnings in EDN PRINCIPLES OF TEACHING AND
ASSESSMENT for first trimester 2022-2023.

This intervention will set as an exemplar in crafting assessment tools specifically in Filipino IV – VI.
This covers from the first grading up to fourth grading period with competencies from the Most
Essential Learning Competencies.
