Viral video mentioning a foreigner as a tour guide in the

Tanah Lot area, Tabanan, Bali. TPI Denpasar Class I
Immigration Office Head Tedy Riyandi gave an explanation
regarding the viral video.

Reported by detikBali, Tedy emphasized that the man who was called a
foreign citizen (WNA) was in fact an Indonesian citizen (WNI) named
Alessandro Tanganelli. He admitted that he had searched the tour guide
who was called the foreigner. Immigration has also coordinated with the
Bali Tour Guide Association (HPI) regarding Alessandro's membership.

"The tour guide who is suspected of being a foreigner is named Alessandro

Tanganelli. The person concerned is already an Indonesian citizen and has
a license as a tour guide from HPI," said Tedy in a written statement
received by detikBali, Saturday (26/8/2023).

According to Tedy, Alessandro was previously an Italian citizen. To the

Immigration officers, Alesasandro's wife named Indah Yuli Puspitasari said
that her husband had become an Indonesian citizen since 2021.

After becoming an Indonesian citizen, Alessandro worked as a tour guide

and received a license from HPI. In addition, Indah and her husband also
own a travel agency business which is claimed to have received permission
from the Association of Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA).

Tedy regretted that netizens cornered Immigration after Alessandro's

video while working as a tour guide went viral on social media. Even so, he
was grateful because residents participated in monitoring the presence of
foreigners
