Lesson Plan on Entrepreneurship

I. Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, the students must have:


1. discussed the meaning of entrepreneurship;
2. defined Entrepreneur; and
3. identified and explained the characteristics of a successful entrepreneur.

II. Subject Matter/Content:

Topic:
The Concept of Entrepreneurship and the Characteristics of an Entrepreneur

Materials:
LCD projector, laptop, pictures, whiteboard marker, permanent markers,
metacard, adhesive tape

III. Learning Procedure:

A. Preliminary Activities
 Greetings
 Prayer
 Checking of attendance
 Setting of Classroom Standards

B. Review
 The teacher will summarize the lesson discussed in the previous
meeting.

C. Motivation
 The teacher will ask questions to students regarding their dreams in
life.

Questions:
1. What are your dreams in life?
2. What do you want to be in the near future?
3. What motivates you to pursue that dream?
4. Who inspires you to pursue that dream?

 After asking those questions, the teacher will emphasize to the students
that there are those individuals who are motivated to fulfill their dreams
in life because of their status of living.
 Also, the teacher will give an example of a person who is considered
“the richest man in the Philippines for the year 2020” in the person of
Manny Villar.
D. Lesson Proper

a. Pre-activity
 The teacher will introduce the topic and present the objectives of
the lesson.
 The students will be asked about their ideas on entrepreneurship
based on the motivational activity.
 The teacher will ask the students the following questions:
1. What is the meaning of entrepreneurship?
2. What do you call to a person who is engaged in entrepreneurial
activities?
3. What characteristics an entrepreneur must possess?

b. Activity Proper
 The class will be divided into four groups.
 Each group will choose a secretary and two presenters of the
output.
 They will work cooperatively by identifying the different
characteristics of successful entrepreneurs which are projected in
thru the LCD.
 Each member of the group must write down on a metacard, as
many as they have agreed upon as a characteristics of a successful
entrepreneur. Only one distinct characteristic must be written down
on each metacard.
 The secretary of each group will paste all the metacards on the
whiteboard.
 The presenter will stand in front of the class and expound concisely
a characteristic of an entrepreneur. To avoid duplication, a presenter
shall choose one distinct characteristic from what other presenters
have expounded.
 The teacher will check the output of each group.

c. Post Activity
 The scores will be tallied. The teacher will give additional
information on the part which was not fully understood by the
students.

d. Generalization
 What particular lesson have you learned about the characteristics of
a successful entrepreneur?

e. Application
 Cite examples of successful entrepreneurs in national and local
setting.
 Among the different characteristics of an entrepreneur, which one
best describes your personality as a would-be entrepreneur? Why?
f. Valuing
 Appreciate the role of entrepreneurship in helping Filipino families
rise from poverty.

1. Give the advantages and disadvantages of entrepreneurship and expound
each.
