1. Scope
This General Specification specifies the technical supplementary delivery conditions for
steel pipes accessories for the use within Petropars Drilling Projects.
This Specification is applicable to ISO 11960 (API 5CTmaterial grades and other agreed
proprietary grades of material.

2. Reference documents
The reference documents listed below form an integral part of this General Specification.
Unless otherwise stipulated, the applicable version of these documents, including
relevant appendices and supplements, is the latest revision published at the
EFFECTIVE DATE of the CONTRACT.

3.1 Information to be supplied by the purchaser

The purchaser should consult the relevant company standard before selection of the
stock pipe is made.
The origin of the already manufactured OCTG casing and tubing shall possess an API
5CT license and an ISO / TS 29001 certification, or a purchaser approved equivalent.

4. Technical requirements
All OCTG being purchased from stock shall meet the minimum requirements as stated in
ISO 11960 (API 5CT).
4.1 Material
4.1.1 Material Types and level’s
The following grade types and Product Specification Levels (PSL) plus the addition
requirements as stated in this document are acceptable as the minimum to Petropars
LTD unless otherwise advised.

For where proprietary grades of steel are proposed as an alternative to the ISO /
API as stated above. The manufacturer / stockist / shall submit their
manufacturing process specification for approval before use. Any revisions to the
agreed specifications should be submitted to Petropars LTD before
commencement of production.

4.1.2 Stock Products with approval from COMPANY

At the purchaser’s request, the OCTG stockist / Distributor / Trader shall carry
out the following activities and allow the purchasers third party inspector access
for the surveillance / rework / review / inspection and any other testing to be
performed at the storage site or subcontractors site.
All workmanship related to the acceptance of the OCTG will be bared by the
manufacturer / stockist / Distributor / Trader unless otherwise agreed by the
purchaser.
The following process flow chart is applicable only to products coming from
Petropars LTD approved mills.

4.2 Marking
All marking must be in conformance with the following and ISO 11960 (API 5CT) plus
any additional requests stated on the purchase agreement.
• At the pin end, two meters from the threaded connection, one ring (100 mm
wide) of blue paint and one ring of yellow (100 mm wide) paint, with a space of
30 mm between the rings.
4.3 Protectors
All finished pipes shall be furnished with protectors.
Only by agreement with the purchaser will substitute protectors be used.
4.4 Storage Compound
Unless otherwise stated on the purchase agreement the storage compound that shall be
used is
• JET MARINE IMPERITOR – for all zones
• Rust-Veto AS – Not to be used for sub Sahara or tropical zones Only by
agreement with the purchaser will a substitute be used
4.5 Third Party Inspection
The protocols and scope of work for the third party inspection representative will
be as per this document.
