Our quality standard will be according The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), now known as ASTM International, is
an international standards organization that develops and publishes voluntary consensus
standards for a wide range of materials, products, systems, and services. ASTM standards are
used globally by industries, governments, regulatory bodies, and other organizations to establish
common specifications and test methods.
NO. 6: Risk Management: - Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with the project
(construction of a school). Develop a basic risk management plan that includes risk assessment
and mitigation strategies.
Answer. When it comes to the construction of a school, there are several potential risks and
uncertainties that should be considered, here are some examples:
1. Budgetary Risks: There is a risk of cost overruns and budget constraints during the
construction process. Unforeseen expenses, such changes in material costs or design
modifications, can impact the projects financial viability.
2. Delays: Construction projects often face delays due to various reasons, due to
unfavorable weather conditions, labor shortages, permit issues or unforeseen site
conditions. These delays can result in increased costs and project disruptions.
3. Safety Hazards: Construction sites inherently carry safety risks. Accidents, injuries or
health hazards can occur if proper safety protocols are not followed by the construction
team and workers. This can lead to the legal issues, financial liabilities and damage to the
project reputation.
4. Design and Quality Issues: Poorly executed design plans or low quality construction
material can lead to structural problems, functional deficiencies or maintenance issues in
the future. These issues may require costly repairs or renovations. Impacting the projects
long term sustainability.
5. Regulatory Compliance: Construction projects must comply with various building
codes, zoning regulations and other legal requirements. Failure to meet these standards
can results in fines, penalties, delays and even project shutdowns.
6. Stakeholder Management: Effective communication and engagement with
stakeholders, such as school administration, teachers, and parents’ local community
members is crucial. Failure to address their concerns or expectations can lead to disputes,
delays and negative public perception.
To develop a basic risk management plan, you can follow these steps:-
1. Risk Identification: Identify and access potential risks associated with the construction
project, considering the factors mentioned above and any site specific considerations.
Natural hazards like (Earthquakes, Floods, Hurricanes or Storms, Wildfires),
Constructional hazards like ( Structural failures, Accidents and Injuries,
Equipment failures and delays in material delivery)
2. Risk Assessment: Evaluate the probability and potential impact of each identified risk.
Prioritize risk based on their severity and likelihood of their occurrence.
3. Mitigation Strategies:
A. Natural Hazards
Conduct a thorough site survey to identify potential risks.
Implement appropriate constructional design to withstand earthquakes
and high wind loads.
Implement flood resistant design and ensure proper drainage system.
Establish evacuation plans and conduct drills to; prepare for emergencies.
Maintain an emergency response team and supplies on site.
B. Construction Hazards
5. Contingency Plans:
6. Insurance Coverage:
B. Ensure the insurance policy covers potential risk identified in the risk
Assessment.
Effectiveness...
The key stake holder during the construction of school will be following
1. Owner/client: The individual or organization that initiates and fund the construction
project .they are decision maker regarding the project. They also have authority regarding
budget, scope, and objective while doing the project.
3. General contractor: The general contractor are responsible for overseeing the entire
construction project. They manage the construction process, coordinate subcontractor,
procure material, and ensure the project is complete according to the plan and
specifications.
6. Construction workers: skilled labor and trader people who perform the actual physical
construction work on-site. This include the carpenter, plumber, electrician, equipment
operator.
7. Architect/designer: responsible for designing the overall project. And creating
architectural drawing, specification, and plans. They work closely with the client to
understand their requirement and make them into feasible design.
The project team will engage and communicate with different stakeholder group in variety
of way
1. Regular meetings: the project team will hold regular meetings with all shareholder
group to discuss progress, share information, and get feedback. These meetings will
be held in person, over a phone. Depending upon the stakeholder needs.
2. Communication plan: the project team will create the communication plan for each
stakeholder group. These plans will outline the goal of the communication, the target
audience, the frequency of communication and method of communication.
3. Focus group: the project team will use focus group to gather feedback from
stakeholders in a more in-depth way. Focus group allow stakeholder to share their
thought and idea in a group setting.

Closure: School Project completion
The closure of a development project, for example, a school project, includes a few key stages,
including deliverable acknowledgment and catching illustrations learned. Here is a
recommended approach:
Direct a last examination of the finished development to guarantee it meets the settled upon
details, wellbeing guidelines, and nearby guidelines.
Include applicable partners, including project directors, planners, engineers, school specialists,
and some other important gatherings.
Report any remaining issues or inadequacies that should be tended to before authoritatively
tolerating the task expectations.
Make a punch list that incorporates any excess minor things that should be finished or fixed.
Audit the authoritative arrangements and guarantee that all commitments have been satisfied.
Finish any fundamental desk work, including the arrival of liens, guarantees, and certifications.
Get the essential sign-offs and endorsements from all gatherings included.
Give the important preparation to school staff individuals who will be liable for working and
keeping up with the office.
Guarantee all documentation is coordinated, listed, and effectively available for future reference.
Monetary Conclusion:
Confirm that every monetary perspective, like installments, solicitations, and last bookkeeping,
are appropriately dealt with and shut.
Settle any remaining installments, claims, or debates connected with the development project.
Examples Learned:
Lead an examples learned meeting with key venture partners, including the development group,
school delegates, and any important experts.
Examine the victories, difficulties, and regions for development during the venture.
Report the illustrations picked up, featuring best practices, techniques to keep away from future
issues, and proposals for comparative tasks.
Project Assessment:
Evaluate the task's general accomplishment by looking at the genuine outcomes against the
underlying targets, spending plan, and timetable.
Break down any deviations and recognize the explanations for them.
Recognize and value the endeavors of everybody engaged with the undertaking's effective
consummation.
Share the task's accomplishments with the more extensive local area, like guardians,
understudies, and nearby specialists, through pamphlets, online entertainment, or other
correspondence channels.
Recall that this is an overall principle, and the conclusion cycle might change in light of the idea
of the undertaking and any legally binding arrangements set up.
