GETTING TO KNOW YOU

Dear Students,

Greetings of Safety!

Understanding that leads to knowledge is something that is gained through our

experiences. Perception of knowledge varies from person to person and from experience to
experience, yet understanding can create shared knowledge. As Kant says, experience is
empirical knowledge. We gained knowledge through our senses, which leads to our
understanding of it and our reasoning. Experience provides us a better way to improve our
understanding of things or life further.

This course hopes to achieve this learning experience through our active engagement and
critical thoughts despite our constraints. As a prelude to our journey of understanding another
segment of knowledge offered in our curriculum, I highly enjoin you to answer the two parts of
our preliminary activity known as getting to know you. The first part focuses on your profile,
while the second part aims at your self-reflection. Please feel free to answer these guide
questions and submit the same in a folder file per section. I will instruct Class Mayor to make a
folder file and where it will be submitted. Your mindful response to this might be solicited
during our synchronous discussion, so I encourage you to participate actively.

As a student the Philippine history is important as other nation’s history. Knowing the

history gives us a sense of identity and helps us understand how our nations came to be.

History is important in imparting nationalism, culture especially to the young ones.

As a student of Philippine History, what can you do…?

I will preserve the Philippine history by giving importance and showing others that it is
very essential.

I feel that Philippine history is difficult for me because marami din tayong, or kaming
hindi maiintindihan ng husto about this subject and also marami ding matutunan ako
kahit paunti unti lang.
