Transport RAKOTOBE Dominique is a large
transport company specialized in petroleum
product transportation, running more than 40 long-
haul diesel trucks. Truck operation is very tough as
they distribute all other Madagascar, working on
both highways and in the city, using fuel with high
sulphur content. The customer was using competitor
SAE 40 engine oil product at a drainage interval of
9 000 Kms.
The company was seeking increasing fleet
productivity and equipment availability, in addition
to savings through reducing lubrication and
maintenance costs.
The Vivo Energy lubricants technical team suggested
using Rimula R4 X 15W40 to replace the competitor
SAE 40 engine oil. This allowed to increase the oildrain
interval from 9 000 kms to 15 000 kms.

determine the optimal oil-drain interval and monitor oil
and engines condition.
