TITLE: 
Installing the Panelboard
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:
Given the needed tools and materials, you should be able to install the panelboard based
on the layout plan and in compliance with the PEC guidelines.
SUPPLIES/ MATERIALS: 
Panelboard, wood screws or metal screws with plastic tox

EQUIPMENT: 
Power drill, screwdrivers, level bar, marking tools, pull-push rule

STEPS/ PROCEDURE: 
1. Based on the layout plan, mark and layout the height dimension of the panel board
using horizontal lines. Make sure to comply with the height requirements of PEC.
Extend the horizontal line using a spirit level.
2. Still referring to the layout plan, make a vertical line to get the exact location of the
panel board. Extend the marking again. Use a level bar to ensure that the alignment is
straight. The marking indicates the location of the panel board.
3. Place the panelboard on the marking. Make sure that the panel is in the center of the
marking.
4. Mark all mounting holes provided in the panelboard on the wiring board.
5. Fix the panelboard with two wood screws or metal screws with plastic tox if the walls
are concrete. This ensures that the alignment is straight or level.
6. Check the vertical and horizontal alignment. Then fix the panelboard with the
remaining screws.
7. After completing this task, do not forget to perform the 5s of Good Housekeeping and
to return all tools and surplus materials.
