1.0 PURPOSE/SCOPE: This guideline document describes the naming conventions to follow for
objects created in Enovia.

2.0 DEFINITIONS:

3.0 PROCEDURE:

3.0 General Rules

3.0.1 Capitalization Sentence case should be used unless indicated otherwise:
capitalizing only the first word of a sentence, any proper nouns,
the first word after the delimiter and acronyms.
3.0.2 Language Only English is to be used.

Object Convention
3.1 General Enovia Objects
3.1.1 Enovia Item (Part) Description. Naming convention:
Only applies to part types not
managed by TMDM. <Noun>, <Adjective>, <Size>

Examples:

• Valve, Ball, 4”
• Valve, Ball, Actuated, 4”
• Bracket, Sensor, Top deck
• Handrail, Walkway

3.1.3 AutoCAD Drawing
3.2 FLSmidth Specific
3.2.1 Plant BOM (PBOM) Naming convention:

<End Customer Name>, <Plant Name>, <Product or Material

Handled>

Rules:

• If any of the 3 fields are not known, then leave that field
blank.

3.2.2 Plant Equipment in PBOM Naming convention:

<Product Name as per product typology>, <Product Model>,

<Unique identifier>

Rules:

• The Unique identifier can be any descriptor that uniquely

identifies similar or identical equipment in a plant.
Examples include function, line number, sequential
number, etc.

Examples:

• Reflux Classifier, RC3000-HY, Product Fines

• Raptor Cone Crusher, R1100, Secondary Crushing
• SAG Mill, 40'-0” x 27’ - 6”, Line # 1
3.3 Variant Management
3.3.1 Configuration Features Naming convention:

CF_<Product Short Name>_<Name of the Feature>

Rules:

• No Spaces are allowed

• The product name should be written out but can be the
short version of the name. For example, Raptor Cone
Crusher can be ConeCrusher.
• Underscores are only allowed as shown in the pattern
and is not to be used as a replacement for a space.
• Use CamelCase. Words are written without spaces, and
the first letter of each word is capitalized.

Examples:

• CF_ConeCrusher_Throw
• CF_ApronFeeder_Width
• CF_ReclaimFeeder_MotorVoltage

3.4.1 OEM Manual Naming convention:

Manual, OEM, Product Name as per product typology>,

<Product Model>

Rules:

• “Product Name as per product typology” and “Product

Model” must be the same as used in the Plant Equipment
description.

Examples:

• Manual, OEM, Reflux Classifier, RC3000-HY

• Manual, OEM, Raptor Cone Crusher, R1100
• Manual, OEM, SAG Mill, 40'-0” x 27’ - 6”
3.4.2 IOM Manual Naming convention:

Manual, IOM, <Product Name as per product typology>,

<Product Model>

Rules:

• “Product Name as per product typology” and “Product

Model” must be the same as used in the Plant Equipment
description.

Examples:

• Manual, IOM, Reflux Classifier, RC3000-HY

• Manual, IOM, Raptor Cone Crusher, R1100
• Manual, IOM, SAG Mill, 40'-0” x 27’ - 6”
3.4.3 Manual translations Naming convention:

<Name as per 3.4.1 or 3.4.2>_<Language Abbreviation>

Rules:

• Two letter abbreviation for the language as per table in

the Appendix 6.1

Example:
• 9232510000_ Raptor Cone Crusher, R1100_IOM_SE
• 9232510000_ Raptor Cone Crusher, R1100_IOM_RU
