• Flash-point temperature – The minimum temperature at which the liquid gives off sufficient vapor to
form an ignitable mixture with air near the surface of the liquid or within the test vessel used.
• Highest temperature which is attained in service under the most adverse conditions (but within the
specified tolerances) by any part or surface of Ex Equipment.
• For Equipment in Explosive atmosphere-this could occur internal to equipment or external to the equipment
• The maximum surface temperature marked on the equipment includes safety margins depending on the EPL of the
equipment
