THE ADAPTATION OF JUANA ENRIQUEZ MACALALAG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS After CONDUCTING FACE TO FACE CLASSES
THE ADAPTATION OF JUANA ENRIQUEZ MACALALAG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS After CONDUCTING FACE TO FACE CLASSES
Literature foundation
In this study, the students in Juana Enriquez Macalalag National High School are entering
the new normal set up for the limited face to face classes. Several studies that students are
more likely to experience higher rates of depression and anxiety. Anxiety is the top
presenting concern among students (41.6 percent), followed by depression (36.4 percent)
and relationship problems (35.8 percent).
When Face-to-face is declared it gives better motivation to study; instant feedback. It is too
difficult to learn everything through computer. Face-to-face interaction with instructors is
way better for the learning process among students. It also can improve the student’s
mental health and mood. Face-to-face is better for resolving study problems. It’s an
opportunity to start again socialize and express about the thoughts. However, with schools
and colleges moving to virtual formats, teens may feel lonely, unmotivated, or discouraged
without regular social interaction.
While adapting to the new experiences, students’ readiness needs to be gauged and
supported accordingly. The learners who experienced some difficulties in the new education
system is difficult to adapt to a new learning environment (Doucet et ai, 2020)
Seriousness of the problem
Scientists identified a new infectious disease in an early January 2020. Since then, the covid
19 pandemic has caused widespread disruptions to schools and universities, according to
UNESCO, as of april 10, 2020 more than 188 countries had implemented nationwide school
and university closure, impacting over 91% of the world's student population (UNESCO n.d.).
Transitioning from classroom teaching to online instruction is a challenge even under the
best possible circumstances, let alone as an emergency response to the COVID-19
pandemic. In education, as in the rest of the world, it will take a while to adjust to the "NEW
NORMAL".
General Objective
It is very evidence that this pandemic brings all students into the difficulties of studying. But
it's not the sign for us to give up, because everything changed for a reason. So, it is a good
idea that we are now in the new normal set up for us to learn more about what topics in our
class we are gonna having for. It is the rightful for us to be in a regular class to understand
on what truly matters for all of us students.
We are aware that many teachers and students desired limited face-to-face classes in order
to have a deeper comprehension of the various modules. The Department of Education
hoped to reach this format in order for students to learn new things and gain a better
understanding of the topics or lessons they are studying on their own. As a result, they
aimed to provide greater learning opportunities for children who had ambitions about their
own stories.
General Purpose
To find out why some students prefer modular/online learning, while others are adapting to
improve and feel comfortable taking this mode of risk. Describing the pros and cons of these
changes is one of the purposes why we conduct this research. This research also helps the
students to encourage their oneself to feel better and go back to the desire learnings that
they've ever had.
