1. Common Law Copyright (Publish- Newspaper Legal Notice & Record at County Clerk’s Office)
2. Birth Certificate (State & Federal Level)

 Order your Birth Certificate from Vital Records (you need the Certificate of Live Birth)

State Level
 Google ‘Your State secretary of state authentication’ (to get the application for your birth
state)

Federal Level
 Complete form DS4194
 Update the Date & Certified mail tracking number.
 Add in a $20.00 Post Office Money Order (Payable to: Secretary of State)
 Self-Stamped Envelope (you need 4 stamps)
 Send Certified (Green slip) on the envelope to them (so you will have tracking)
 After a Week, Call: 202-485-8000, Option 5 to get a status on processing your order.

3. Minnesota 220 Rule, this is to have the one error corrected on your birth certificate
(everyone has one error on it) and to put it on record that you have claimed your
competent, living status.

 Complete this after you receive your Federal Authenticated Birth Certificate back
from Washington.
 Complete the 1-page form and get it notarized.
 Mail a copy to your Birth state vital records and a copy to Washington Vital Records

4. Affidavit of Ownership, this is the final step in the birth certificate process. The purpose
is to claim ownership/entitlement of the trust connected to the Birth Certificate.
 Complete the form, have it notarized & Published (Newspaper as Legal Notice).
 Add the Minnesota 220 rule form.
 Record both at the County Recorder’s Office
