HOFA-Plugins Manager

Activation & Deactivation

Overview
Besides installing the plugins/software from HOFA, the HOFA-Plugins Manager
also allows you to manage your activations. This applies to activation,
deactivation and a license overview. Additionally, temporary licenses can be
imported.
After clicking on “LICENSES” the following window appears:
After logging in you can activate or deactivate machines or flash drives or view
a summery of your activated devices.
Without logging in you can request your login name or a new password and
also import temporary licenses. Software on machines without internet
connection can be used via an activated USB flash drive.
After logging in you can choose between activation, deactivation or a license
summary.
Activation
You first need to choose the machine or flash drive you'd like to activate. Only
the machine on which HOFA-Plugins Manager is executed and attached flash
drives can be selected. If a flash drive isn't shown it might help to restart the
HOFA-Plugins Manager.
On the next page choose the licenses to activate. Beside the name of the
plugin/software, the available and overall activations are shown. A machine
that has already been activated is marked as such but can be activated again
without using up another activation. This can for example be useful to repair a
broken license.
While the licenses get activated a progress bar is shown:
Finally, a summery of the activation is shown:
Deactivation
On the first page you can select the machine or flash drive to deactivate.
Starting with HOFA-Plugins Manager V2.0.0 it is also possible to deactivate
machines other than the one HOFA-Plugins Manager is running on and flash
drives that aren't attached.
Now you can choose the licenses to deactivate:
During the deactivation process a progress bar is shown:
Finally, a summary is shown:
License Summary
The license overview shows all activated devices. This also includes flash drives
not connected to the machine that is running HOFA-Plugins Manager and
further machines. Additionally, an overview of available activations is shown
under “Available”.
Import Temporary License File
You can import temporary license files, for example for further testing besides
the normal demo period. After a page with a short description you can browse
to the license file (.hofalic). You can request a temporary license via email to
plugins@hofa.de.
If a license file already exists a dialog asks whether it should be overwritten:
