Speaker of Parliament, Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye has stated emphatically that homosexuality has no
place in the Ghanaian society.

Giving his ‘intellectual position’ on the issue of homosexuality, Prof. Mike Oquaye said the practice is
against the Ghanaian culture, adding that “Ghana is a very religious country” and “Ghanaians do not like
that kind of thing.”

2. Dag Heward Mills

Presiding Bishop of the United Denominations of Lighthouse Group of Churches (UD-OLGC) and
Head Pastor of the First Love Church, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills has reiterated that the church
will strongly resist and stand against any efforts by the government to legalize homosexuality in

4. Bishop. Agyin Asare

General Overseer of the Perez Chapel, Bishop Charles Agyin-Asare, has admonished Christians

5. Afia schwarzenegger

Afia Schwarzenegger argued that, if Homosexuals should be permitted openly in the country
then there is a strong case for others who choose to smoke weed and has been on the chase by
policemen since the act of smoking weed is their human rights too, just like they claim in
support of LGBTQ.

6. Reverend. Philip Naameh

In a press statement dated February 19, 2021, signed and issued by the President of the GCBC,
Most Reverend Philip K. Naameh, the GCBC said the existence of the LGBTQI agenda is a
“complete disorder of the fundamental law of God in creating man and woman” hence the need

7. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

Information Minister-designate Kojo Oppong Nkrumah is proposing legislation against the

advocacy of LGBT+ activities in Ghana.

According to him, given the current push for the legalisation of homosexuality in Ghana, the
country needs to consider passing a law that tackles its promotion because the practice, in itself,
is culturally unacceptable and goes contrary to section 104 of the Criminal Code, 1960.

Ghanaian musician Kwaw kese said on instagram in a video”We cant legalize gay in Ghana”and
continue to applaud the president for not accepting the law.
