CLASS PROPHECY

Emmanuel M. Riva
Class of 2023

Ang buhay ng bawat tao ay konektado. Ang bawat pangyayari ay nagaganap ng

mayroong dahilan.

hinaharap.

Have you ever wondered what you would be 10 years from now?

I bet you have. You have imagined yourselves as someone who is successful,
fulfilled, and happy. There’s nothing wrong with foreseeing ourselves beautifully and
splendidly. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “The future belongs to those who believe in
the beauty of their dreams." If we continue to be positive, we will eventually become
who we like to be. However, what we envision in the future determines how we work
today. Our past molds our present and our present shapes our future.

Everyone has a dream he or she wants to pursue and achieve. As they say, there
is nothing wrong to dream and aim high especially for the children like us who have the
courage to overcome trials and obstacles to reach the star that we’ve been dreaming to
get someday. But if you were to write your own prophecy of the future, what would it be?
Would it be a once-upon-a-time story? Or a happy-ever-after one? For the six years that
we have been together, we have shared our dreams and ambitions with one another.
Some want to be a doctor, nurses, superior pilots, teachers, professional journalists,
artists, and other dreams we want to be in the future.

Ladies and gentlemen, to my fellow classmates, friends, parents and guardians,

visitors, and guest speaker, Engr. Jerome S. Maestre, to our dearest Principal, Madam
Rosemarie M. Mangaring, and Asst. Principal Sir Peñaflor F. Faz and also to our kind
teachers and staff of Romblon National High School, let me take you to the future. Lend
me your ears. In just a minute, we'll take a journey to the future. Sit back, relax, and
widen your imagination. Let's enjoy this journey.

Before I lay down to bed one night, I started to wonder what Batch 2023 would
become in the future. Then I found myself praying…praying to God to give me a vision
for this batch. But before the future was unveiled, our past experiences and the past
events during our high school life unfolded.

And I discovered that each and every one of us has the answer: the past has
made us strong and firm to endure life’s challenge of constant change, which is about
fear, anxiety, and uncertainty of the future. God has put us through this because He is
raising up young reformers for the real millennium in us.

I was reminded that in a span of 10 years, we witnessed how the faith of our
nation was entrusted from this batch will rise leaders in different fields who will bring
about great changes, not only in themselves, in their families, and in their community,
but great changes to the whole nation, which will make our nation rise above the rest.

Ten years from now, we will see national leaders rise, who will lift our country
from its fallen state. Future leaders in politics like Ergie Jhoy Ramos will be developed.
She would make things right and run the government honestly and with dignity. She will
reach out to people, not for the sake of politics but for the benefit of the many. She will
stand for what is right and true.
Mighty defenders like policemen and women in their shining armor will prevail.
With loyalty and courage, Carl Aldren Merida, Jessica Mangaring, Dindo Dalida, Jasper

guidance of God. Also with the soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Justin
Montojo with Michael Angelo Marquez, Jeremie Montiel, Hazel Rojas, and Jovelyn

Madeja, Charles David Vidad, Nikko Real, Dion Montojo and Geric Gatarin who do not
get their money from taking advantage of other people, but from the fruit of their labor.

Maines, Geric Llabore, Jake Masajo, Leah Maeh Mutia, and Ryzel Madali. They will
perk up our country’s industry and make it known all over the world. Agriculturists like

of planning or conducting agricultural research to help farms, food, and agribusiness-
related organizations; doing research to determine the most efficient approaches to
projects and programs; and improving our economy’s state in the world.

The hands of the Artists will provide color to our world. They will not only draw,
but they will draw with the meaning. Mark Gerard Maisa, Regee Lorn Mangaring, and
Joshua Scott Modena will make cartoons and works of art not only for the sake of
entertainment and pleasure but they will make them convey a message, the message of
God’s love. Their artistic touch would really touch the lives of people and draw lasting
legacies in their hearts.

As patients lie on hospital beds, medical doctors Isaac Melano, Regine Rica
Umban, Krizelle Maningat, and Matthew Dwine Rios will not only be attending to their
physical needs but will also be praying for their physical and emotional healing. Dentists

their sworn oath but because of the compassion in their hearts that moves them to help
the people in need. Going further to the science field profession Biologist Racel John
Mallorca will study living things to help people understand their makeup, habits,
habitats, and interactions with one another and the environment, and Physicist John
Kyrie Bunsay will investigate the underlying characteristics and governing principles of
space, time, energy, and matter; research theories, plan and carry out experiments or

Philippine Sports Association (PSA) will provide leadership, formulates policies, and
sets priorities and directions for all amateur sports promotion and development,
particularly giving emphasis on grassroots participation.

Suddenly, I woke up because of a loud voice coming from outside my room. I

had no choice but to stand and see who it was. My mother appeared to me and she was
already annoyed. She said, I have to get ready or else I might be late for my graduation
day. I closed the door and my mind was still full of questions. I knew that I was really in
my deep slumber but I can’t understand the feeling. So, it was all just a dream? Does it
mean it’s all just a sneak peek into the future? But it seemed that it all happened
yesterday. But even so, I managed to smile knowing that my friends, classmates, and
batchmates will be successful in the future. Will we be successful in the future just like
in my dream? Definitely, we will! Nothing is impossible for a person who dreams.

As I ponder into these thoughts, I remember that changes have made Batch
2023 strong. My batch from all tracks: Arts and Design, Sports, and Academic which
includes the strands: STEM, ABM, and HUMSS. We will be succeeded in pursuing our
ideal careers.

At this moment, I was overwhelmed with pride and thankfulness. Thank you,
God, for providing us with strength, protection, and wisdom. You are the reason we
were able to attain our goals in the future. Thank you, too, to our wonderful parents,
who are always there to support us, we could never have done this on our own. And to
my Mama and Papa, Blandina and Vergedo, thank you very much for being there for
me.

Now that we are about to graduate, we have reached the climax of achieving our
goals in life. It is my prophecy of the future and how the Class of 2023 values their
dreams with our future diverged in a yellow wood. A warm "Congratulations!" goes out
to all we worked so hard to accomplish.

Well, whatever the case, this prophecy serves as a challenge for us all to fulfill
our dreams. Because if we were to persist and never give up in life, we could become
whoever and whatever we want to be in the next 10 years after the Class of 2023 will
graduate from college journey. Never, ever stop learning and trying. A bright future is to
those who trust in the greatness of their aspirations.

As a student of Junior and Senior High School at Romblon National High School,
thank you for all the memories. I, Emmanuel Macasa Riva, give you my last words “I am
now officially signing off.” Thank you!
