Control System SBZ 130
List of contents
3 Details.........................................................................................3-1
The SBZ 130 Control System includes all functions required for both the operator and
service technician.
To prevent the machine operator from being bothered with, for him/her, unnecessary menus,
passwords have been assigned for the service functions.
The operating manual for the SBZ 130 Control System is divided into sections. In the first
section (Chapter 2) the general operation of the software is described. In the second section
(Chapter 3) the entry of programs and machine operation are explained using detailed
examples.
Note:
This operating manual exclusively describes the functions and
procedures which concern the operating software of the SBZ 130.
Safety regulations and precautions for operating the machine are
contained in the corresponding operating manual of the SBZ 130
machine.
The general safety and accident prevention regulations apply.
Note:
Each menu item / sub-menu item is coded with a certain number. This
code can be used to directly select the desired menu item.

ATEST
The function ATEST allows the system parameters to be
viewed.
4 Start The motor data for the internal oscilloscope are recorded

If no data has been saved in the system yet, you will be requested
to enter a new data record in the following window:
Enter the data record name, e.g. Profile 01 and confirm the entry with
(= Return) or by pressing
(= function key F10) twice.
Enter the new data record name, e.g. Profile 02 or select one with the
cursor keys. Confirm the entry/selection with

General info The material and machining values are defined with the
"General Parameters" data record:
• Profile height and profile width
• Zero-point offset of the profile
• Spraying ON/OFF (coolant onto the material)
• Optimization function for path and tool ON/OFF
Opening

General info Define all tool-relevant parameters with the "Tools" data record.
Opening
Menu After opening, the empty entry menu for the tool parameters appears:
Note:
As the control system can save more tools than the machine can
physically carry, activating the tool deactivates the tool previously saved in
this position.
Position: Here the position assigned to the tool in the tool
changer is specified. The individual positions
are marked on the tool changer.
Position 32 Position 31
In this case, the following position numbers must be entered for the tool in
position 3:
• right side and/or rear side: 31
• left side and/or front side: 32
Note:
The tool diameter is only relevant for milling cutters.
1
5
Note:
In place of the total length 2, the tool length 3 can also be entered in the
Length field and the tool holding fixture 1 can also be entered in the Shaft
length field.
When using an angled head, only the tool length 2 is entered in the
Length field.
Offset dimensions are automatically taken into account by the software
(see Angled head entry field).
Note:
Speed ratio 1 = without ratio = 6,000 rpm.
General info The "Contours" data record defines the milling programs that are
then started in the machining program.
Opening

The path data are programmed by entering the movement of the cutter
from the 0 point in the corresponding direction. The type of movement is
specified with program parameters.
Specifying program parameter (Job):
G00 Rapid traverse (= The cutter moves quickly along a straight line
specified with coordinates).
G01 Straight-line interpolation (= The cutter moves through a
straight line specified with coordinates).
G02 Counter-clockwise circle programming (= The cutter travels
clockwise along a semi-circle).
G03 As for G02, however clockwise.
G23 Circular arc with additional support point on the path.

Program parameters (Job): G00, G01
Programming a rectangle.

• Height 100 mm
Step 1: Use a sheet of graph paper for planning the contour and draw in the
coordinate system.

Step 2: Draw the contour in the coordinate system. The center of the contour is to
lie at the coordinate origin (0,0). Specify the dimensions of the rectangle

individual path curves. It is easiest to program the path curve in the
clockwise direction, starting at the coordinates (0,0).

After completing the entries in the depth table shown above, the hole will

If a thread is to be cut with a standard tap after drilling the core hole, the
corresponding entries in the depth table are required.
Note:
Three entries in the depth table are always required for threaded holes.
After the entry has been made in the depth table shown above, tapping will
be carried out as follows:
4 The drill bit then automatically moves back to the first dimension
of the depth table, unless the dimension of the fourth table entry is
larger than the dimension of the first table entry.
If the hole and the thread are to be carried out with the combination tool,
the corresponding entries must be made in the depth table.

twice the height. The upper side of the profile is to be milled and another
identical milling carried out on the front. The program is to be valid for any
profile lengths. In addition, threaded M6 holes are to be drilled at 4 corners
points. The center point of the threaded holes is to be 12 mm from the
edge of the contour.

Step 3: Programming the contour and holes for Level 3 (machining from the front).
The entries that follow now are basically identical to the entries in Step 1

Differences:
- Use Level 3 (Eb 3)
- Coordinate Y becomes coordinate Z
- Use tool, angled head
Note:
Instead of using an angled tool for machining Level 3, it is also possible to
change the clamping device. However, consider the additional time
required.
