during the day
Keep make them feel safe when you’re in the room because they
already trust you.
They need to feel that you’re reliable and they can count on you if
the need.
You only know those people in this work environment but they can
be actually nice people to talk with. They might be struggling in their
role and that’s why you shouldn’t judge the before knowing them.
Try to be nice to them and not to show your negative emotions when
talk to them.
Ask open ended questions and listen carefully to what they say to
you
Answer all of the questions below using the results of the evaluation in section 1 to guide your answers, and
feedback from your classmates/friends/family for parts c and d.
a) Document your findings on yourself in the four areas focused on in your evaluation in section 1 as discuss
your strongest area.
Emotional Self-control: The positive side of emotional self control is that I can keep working professionally

others.

my skills and knowledge. Sometimes adaptability make other people think that you’re happy to work more than
you should.
b) Reflecting on the results, identify what stood out for you in terms of what it tells you about yourself as a
person.
Reflecting on the results I identified two main strengths and one main weakness. I have the ability to create a
positive relationships with many people around me and I don’t fear take responsibility. On the other hand the
main weakness I have identified is my low acceptance or tolerance, and incapacity of having a professional
relationship, with those people whose work is not done professionally.

five of your emotional strengths.

five of your emotional weaknesses.
My emotional strengths help me to work in a professional way and to create a better work environment around
me.
f) Discuss how you believe your emotional weaknesses hinder your workplace performance and

Section 4: Team emotional intelligence development
plan
Complete the following tables for two team members after the round table discussion in the role of their team leader
or manager.
Weaknesses:
Difficulty in handle pressure when working with a large group of children, especially
when other educators are not collaborative.
Difficulty to organise activities having little time available.
Hard to accept and work on feedback given by other or through self reflection.
Sometimes it’s hard for Jullisa to delegate a task to another educator due lack of
trust in other people’s abilities.
Jullisa believes that this job has a big importance in children’s development and
she believes that educate children today will make them be better people
tomorrow. The most important value for Jullisa is to be kind and this can affect
her job and her relationship with others.
One of the advice she would like to give to others is to help children to understand
how important is taking care of others and develop a good level of empathy.
How can you create Jullisa might create a journal to place in the staff room where she can write down

How could this person build further productive relationships within the team?
Jullisa can be more flexible with herself and push herself to accept others work and to understand that not
everything can be under her control.
How can this person maximise their contribution to the team and increase work outputs?
Working on her weaknesses could be good for her to improve her daily practice and create a better environment
for children and team to work in.
Having good communication with families and recognise children’s need she can help to create or plan activities
to use with children to reach team’s goals.
