School Principal
1. The AC shall:
a. Establish the process of and timelines in accepting nominations and
determining qualifiers for academic excellence awards.
b. Communicate to the school community, parents, and other stakeholders
the process involved in giving academic excellence awards and the results of the
evaluation.
c. Verify the authenticity of documents submitted (learners’ portfolios that
contain their written and performance task outputs, class records, report cards, and
other school forms).
d. Ensure accuracy in the computation of grades of the candidates.
e. Recommend to the school principal the result of the evaluation and
deliberation for approval.
f. Recommend to the school principal the resolution on any related issue that
may arise from the results of the awards.
g. Ensure that guidelines stipulated in this policy are followed.
2. The AC shall use the report cards and permanent records supported by the
learners’ portfolio as the main reference for determining the awards.
3. The report of the AC shall be signed by all members of the committee and
certified by the school principal. The school principal shall approve the final list of
awardees upon the recommendation of the committee. If the school principal is
related within the second degree of consanguinity or affinity to any of the candidates
for awards, the school principal must inhibit himself/herself from participating in the
process. The approval shall come from the person next in rank.
4. The documents shall be kept in the office of the school principal for ready
reference. Copies of results shall be submitted to the School District and Division
Offices. The AC, through the Office of the school principal, shall relate the final list of
awardees upon request of stakeholders for scholarship purposes.
5. The AC, together with the school principal, shall determine roles and assign tasks
to the awardees (e.g., delivery of graduation speech, batch history) for the
graduation or school-awarding ceremony which may be done virtually.
Step 3 Communicate the approved processes and timelines to the school June 9, 2023
community.
Step 4 Accept nominees for academic excellence award from the class June 20, 2023
advisers based on the minimum requirements set by these guidelines.
Those that meet the requirements are endorsed to the AC by the class
adviser.
Step 5 Ensure the accuracy of the computation of grades of each of the June 21-23,
candidates and check on their portfolio (written and performance task 2023
outputs) and supporting documents (class records, report cards, other
school forms).
Step 6 Submit results of the evaluation and deliberation to the school principal June 27,
for approval. 2023
Step 7 Ensure that the results of the evaluation and deliberation are June 28-30,
communicated to the class advisers, parents, nominees, and school 2023
community (in case of protest/s, the AC will facilitate its timely
resolution).
Step 8 Announce or post the final list of awardees. July 3, 2023
