1- Cold Region

 Climatic issues
a) Cold and dry conditions
b) Covered by snow all year

 Solutions
a) This building has the perfect
amount of windows to avoid
extensive heat loss.
b) It features a sloped roof to
allow rain and snow to fall off.
c) Built out of the local wooden
material.

 Problems
a) Orientation of the build should be fliped to allow the larger surface area
to face the sun. This allows more windows facing the sun.
b) The color of the facade is too bright therefore, some heat is being
reflected.

2- Temperate Region

 Climatic issues
a) Cold winters
b) Hot summers

 Solutions
a) This building features a
sloped roof to avoid
rain.
b) Solar panels blocking
sun rays yet leaving
enough rays in for the winter.

 Problems
a) Most of the sunrays are hitting dark colored areas (solar panels, Roof)
which absorbs heat. Good for the winter bad for the summer.
3- Hot and Humid Region

 Climatic issues
a) Hot weather
b) Wet weather

 Solutions
a) This building features a
sloped roof to avoid rain.
b) Raised Eleation to allow
water and rain to pass
under the building.
c) High ceiling to let hot air rise.
d) Large windows to catch the breeze.

 Problems
a) Too many windows that allows the sun to heat the building; which will
then require active cooling.

4- Hot and Arid Region

 Climatic issues
a) Very hot weather
b) Dry with little to no rain

 Solutions
a) This building uses a few
windows to minimize heat
gain.
b) Bright facade color to
reflect some heat
c) Low ceiling
d) Windows facing away from the sun
e) Grouped Buildings

 Problems
a) Lack of trees to shade
